This post is a conversation on behalf of US Family Guide and Super League Gaming. I was provided free tickets but not compensated for this post.
Do your kids love playing Minecraft as much as mine do? Eldest, Princess and Big Red all like playing Minecraft whether it be on the PC, tablet or PlayStation 3! As a parent I like that they have something to share together while being creative and learning new skills.
Now your family can play Minecraft in select movie theaters with Super League Gaming. Super League brings together gamers of all ages for a fun, social, face-to-face game-play experience on the big screen with superhero themed maps and mods in a custom Minecraft adventure called, Rise of Heroes.
Bring your own extension cord.
While extension cords are provided, if the event has a lot of gamers, it would be best to have your own so you can stay seated in your chosen location.
Make sure you have the correct Minecraft Version.
Before the event while you are at home on stable WiFi be sure that your laptop has the correct version of Minecraft. If you don’t have the same version that will be played during the Super League event then you won’t be able to join the game with everyone else. There may be internet access at the movie theater but with so many people using it you might lose a lot of time trying to update your game version.
Use a corded mouse or bring extra batteries.
We learned this the hard way. The type of mouse that both Princess and Eldest brought were wireless and battery operated. Neither Riley nor myself thought to ask what type of battery that they would need if the mouse were to die!
Pack snacks and activities for younger siblings.
We went as a family which meant bringing Big Red and Lil’ Red with us. We had snacks and drinks packed but trying to occupy little ones for a couple of hours can be challenging. I brought a tablet with games for Big Red but Lil’ Red just wanted to run around. I even brought toys and busy bags but once he saw the arcade area that’s all he wanted to so.
It was slow going the first day due to some technical difficulties and some of the rules were tricky to learn but once that was figured out Princess and Eldest had fun playing Minecraft on a BIG screen!
