April 2, 2014 By Martiel 2 Comments

BB100 My section 10

As we come to the close of blog topics I’m ending with my very favorite format for blog posts: reviews. These are hands down one of my biggest traffic referrers and over the years have served me exceptionally well. Reviews also offer something that some don’t think about – the opportunity to build a relationship with someone.

When you do a review I suggest you review something that is connected to a company, person, organization, etc. whenever you have the opportunity. Here are 10 review styled topics/titles to help inspire your next blog post.

Blog Titles and Topics with Martiel #BB100 Day 9: Frequently Asked Questions

April 1, 2014 By Martiel 2 Comments

BB100 My section 9

Frequently Asked Questions (or FAQs) are super fun and can be a crowd pleaser. I find that the boring and drab version of Q& A can be quite dull but you can totally use this format and jazz it up. For example, if you want to share some interesting facts about social media, you could use a FAQs post.

A word of caution about FAQ posts: if you use these or plan on implementing them, it’s a good idea to make them colorful, fun, easy to read and interesting…. did you catch that last part?

Yes, above all, make your FAQ post interesting. The way you make it interesting is you offer facts on a topic that would be interesting to your audience. For example, if you are a baker you might want to offer a FAQ post on US vs. Metric measuring implements and answer some common questions people face when they use US or Non-US recipes when baking. Here are 10 FAQ topics/titles to help inspire your next blog post.

10 Open-Ended Blog Topics/Titles

  1. Common Baking Questions for US & Non-US Bakers
  2. Finding the Right Bead Size – FAQs
  3. Basic HTML FAQs
  4. Mommy FAQs: The First Year

  6. Math FAQs for Kids
  7. Understanding Photography/FAQs
  8. Adoption – Get the FAQs!
  9. Getting Started with Marketing
  10. Keeping Your Stencils in Shape

Open-ended questions are probably one of the best ways to connect with your audience and grow your engagement. Why? Because it takes the focus off of you and turns it around onto your reader. Now it might seem a little strange to do that, after all, your blog is supposed to be about you and your experiences. Let me share a couple little secrets about blogging…

  • First Secret: people don’t follow blogs, they follow people; they always have.

When you let them in and trust that things will be okay, amazing things happen. Here are 10 open-ended questions topics/titles to help inspire your next blog post.

Blog Titles and Topics with Martiel #BB100 Day 6: Cheat Sheets & Charts

March 29, 2014 By Martiel 3 Comments

BB100 My section 6

Cheat sheets and charts are in the same area as resources and reference material in that they are a way to continuously drive traffic to your blog well after the initial posting. For example, I particularly love sites that offer charts on practical things like crochet hook sizes, basic HTML code, or the different tensile strength of various wires for beading/jewelry.

Some bloggers offer these in the form of posts where visitors can come and simply use the content directly from the page and some blogger offer it in a format where you can print it out and take it with you such as a PDF. Whatever you decide to do or however you offer it, these types of posts will surely attract visitors for a long time to come. Here are 10 topics/titles to help inspire your next post in a chart or cheat sheet format.

10 Cheat Sheet & Chart Blog Topics/Titles

  1. Crochet Hook & Knitting Needle Reference Chart

  10. Home Decorating Style Sheet
