Since Big Red is in Kindergarten and it’s technically my first time teaching Kindergarten I have been going crazy trying to prep curriculum. I know what should be taught and roughly where he is but getting all those learning objectives completed can be daunting. I was recently given the opportunity to review a program called Learn with Homer.
Big Red has really enjoyed the educational fun while still learning! He knows it’s a review product and that HIS opinions really matter. He really perked up when I told he was in the version 2 beta for Learn with Homer since Eldest and daddy were recently part of a Star Wars beta.
Learn with Homer has many aspects to the program which include Reading, Science, History, Music, Art, Vocabulary, Games & Stories. The user interface is simple and fun, but there is an update coming that will make it even more kid/user friendly. This program is geared at children ages 3-8 and focuses on early learning skills including a very heavy focus on Reading.
Big Red really enjoys earning a thinking cap. He earns them for completing various sections. He also likes creating his own animal avatar. His favorite animal is the bear and favorite thinking cap so far is the bubble hat.
I plan on creating a profile for Lil’ Red as well even though he is only 2 years old he loves apps and digital games! I believe he will be able to do many of the activities and will really enjoy the animated stories.
