If you have nature lovers or the outdoorsy type then you need to make some homemade alphabet stones for your child. My little guys love anything hands-on so this project an bring lots of learning fun over the course of a variety of activities.
All you need for this is somewhat smooth rocks or stones which you can collect outside or cheat and buy at a dollar store like we had to, lol (We forgot to get enough stones while we were in Put-in-Bay while we were on vacation.) Then grab a sharpie marker and carefully write the upper case letters on one side and the lower case on the other side. I asked Princess to do this for me cause her handwriting is legible enough for the little boys to read.
I printed out a sheet that already had the entire alphabet on it from the Letter Tumble activity found on Prekinders! Upper case was on one sheet and lower case on another sheet which I had laminated a few weeks ago while preparing Big Red’s Kindergarten curriculum.
You can sort them. You can spell with them. You can dump and scoop them. You can hide them around the house or in the sand box. You could take them in the kiddie pool or tub. You can wash them. All sorts of fun ways to play with ABC’s and your Alphabet Stones!
