New Year New Glasses?

new year new glasses

Since the New Year is here what do you usually do? You are probably like me and get a new calendar and maybe open a new pack of pens. You probably create a list of books to read and things to accomplish throughout the year. Have you thought about getting new glasses for the New Year? I’m sure there are lots of new styles to choose from.

Have you checked your insurance to see if you are eligible? Even if you think your eyeglasses prescription is the same, wouldn’t it be nice to treat yourself to a fresh new pair!  I am always amazed at how the trend for glasses seem to change every few years.

How do you normally choose eyeglasses? Do you normally get in the car and drive to the local eye doctors? Do you stop in the eyewear department at Walmart or JcPenney’s? With this crazy, snowy winter weather why not shop from the comfort of your home. (if you have a current prescription of course.) You can shop for eye glasses online right from your pc!

I hate being put on the spot to pick out glasses. We have three children and so I tend to go to the office myself. I have found on more than one occasion that the optical assistant’s are not very helpful in giving honest opinions as to what really looks good on me. The last time I ended up with glasses way too wide for my face-ugh! Now with a service like GlassesUSA.com I can try on pairs virtually and share with family and friends to get an honest opinion as to what really looks good with me face shape and size.

Do you need multifocal glasses?  They are corrective lenses used in glasses to correct presbyopia and other disorders or accomodation. They are characterized by a gradient of increasing lens power, added to the wearer’s correction for the other refractive errors. The gradient starts at the wearer’s distance prescription, at the top of the lens and reaches a maximum addition power, or the full reading addition, at the bottom of the lens.
