None Like Him Book Review

I am very hesitant to agree to do book reviews of any kind because I seem to never have the time to read. We are so busy going about life’s craziness that reading has taken backseat for me. I really do enjoy relaxing with a good book but trying to justify the time to do so is hard when my to-do list seems never ending.

None Like Him Book Review

I remembered to grab my copy of None Like Him a couple of weeks ago when we headed out of town for another blog event for my oldest two children. I asked my hubby to drive one way so that I could take some time to relax and read. I was pulled into Jen Wilkin’s book right away from the introduction. I could tell right away that she got me and I could relate to what she had to say when she mentioned social media. I am on social media all the time so I knew that we could relate to life in the same manner.

Jen wastes no time diving right in and sharing how we are different from God and that’s how God planned it! She also talks about how humans always seem to “fight” for being something they are not trying to be more like God then the way God made them. This is so true of all human beings from the time they are little and learn how quickly they can do things for themselves.

About None Like Him:

God is self-existent, self-sufficient, eternal, immutable, omnipresent, omniscient, omnipotent, sovereign, infinite, and incomprehensible.
We’re not.
And that’s a good thing.
Our limitations are by design. We were never meant to be God. But at the root of every sin is our rebellious desire to possess attributes that belong to God alone.
Calling us to embrace our limits as a means of glorifying God’s limitless power, Jen Wilkin invites us to celebrate the freedom that comes when we rest in letting God be God.

About Jen Wilkin:

Jen WilkinJen Wilkin is a speaker, writer, and teacher of women’s Bible studies. She has a background in women’s ministry, and has organized and led studies for women in home, church, and parachurch contexts. Jen and her family are members of the Village Church in Flower Mound, Texas. She writes and teaches the Flower Mound Women’s Bible Study, an interdenominational community study. Jen’s passion is to see women become articulate and committed followers of Christ, with a clear understanding of why they believe what they believe, grounded in the Word of God. You can find her at jenwilkin.net.
