I created this set of Montessori Inspired 3 part cards for small mammals since February’s theme for Nature Book Club is small mammals. I decided to pick 6 small mammals that the other co-host will be sharing in their posts on February 20! I am hoping that this free printable will be a nice resource as you study small mammals this month.
When I first began thinking about what small mammal we would learn about chipmunks and squirrels were the first to come to mind. Then when I asked our Nature Book Club co-hosts what animals they were studying they said bat and meerkat. I had totally forgotten that a bat was a mammal until it was mentioned- oops!
Many animals could be considered a small mammal but I narrowed it down to six so that toddlers and preschoolers could use these cards easily. Older students can use these cards to describe similarities and differences between the animals.
