Spring Flower Nature Scavenger Hunt

March 17, 2016 By Thaleia 5 Comments

Signs of Spring are starting to pop up all over the place! Just a week ago I caught some Mourning Doves building a nest in our large Maple Tree. The only other signs of Spring in our yard are Winter Crocus that have been popping up. I decided we should take a walk around the block on a Spring Flower nature scavenger hunt.

We grabbed our magnifying glasses, batman costume, jackets, rain boots, the puppy and off we headed. I was actually surprised at the lack of Spring flowers around our neighborhood. I know it’s not technically Spring for a few more days but I was hoping to see some buds on bushes or a few flowers blooming.

My boys walked by a lot of the typical green that early Spring brings but did manage to find a few blooming Spring flowers. We found a few yellow Tulips that were just beginning to open up at a neighbors house.

Batman aka Big Red found a small bunch of purple flowers while Bayley the dog found a patch of green. Do you enjoy each season by talking walks around your neighborhood? How about going on a nature scavenger hunt?

I hope you get the chance to get outside and enjoy some sunshine and seasonal weather changes.

Each month we will choose a theme/topic and each blogger will share a post within that theme. Each blogger will link back to the other bloggers thus creating a blog hop. I hope this will be a great resource for parents of kindergarten students around the globe.

We love to go out and look at all of the flowers blooming at our house – this would be a great activity. We need to wait a little bit up here in Maine as we don’t have any flowers out yet!

We did something similar just the other day, although without the Batman costume, I knew we were missing something 😉
