Now that we are nearing the end of over a decade of diapering our four children I am very happy to be sharing this great campaign from Huggies with you! I will admit we have used all sorts of diapers but that’s not what I want to talk about today. I want to share how Huggies wants to give back to YOUR community via their #UltraHug Campaign.
Since we homeschool we get to take part in all sorts of local opportunities that other families may not. Recently, a friend I went to high school with offered to give us a tour of her Boys Home and Christian School which is an awesome ministry that her family has been a part of for many years. Operation Rebirth has been around for 35 years offering a place to bridge the gap between troubled youths and their families. This program was started when the need was made known to it’s founder, James R. Brian.
Operation Rebirth is a Christian boarding school and family ministry, committed to providing a Christ-centered academic program for young boys, while focusing on strengthening and restoring family relationships through the application of God’s Word. Operation Rebirth is incorporated under a board of seven evangellically-based directors, and is aimed at assisting boys up to eighteen years of age who are having problems adjusting to school, home and community life.
I was completely amazed at the care and love that goes into the day to day lives of the 8 boys that live at Operation Rebirth. There are rules that are set in love and routine that keep everyone going each day. I had the privilege to eat lunch with the staff, boys, and even meet Mr. James and Susan Brian while we were there. They have a very tight budget and things are not always glamours on the farm. There’s a lot of hard work that goes on from farming to woodworking to archery to animal husbandry. They also have lots of fun via camping trips, archery lessons, and local community events.
Operation Rebirth’s motto: “It’s better to build boys than to mend men” is so very honest and to the point. This is why I nominate Operation Rebirth for the Huggies #UltraHug $2,000 campaign!
