We have just partnered with Jan Berry of The Nerdy Farm Wife to promote her brand new book: 101 Easy Homemade Products for Your Skin, Health & Home: A Nerdy Farm Wife’s All-Natural DIY Projects Using Commonly Found Herbs, Flowers & Other Plants Wow that’s a long name but well worth the character space, lol! This book is jam-packed with all sorts of recipes and tips to make your home more natural by kicking toxic chemicals and products to the curb! I have been interested in learning about natural remedies and herbs for the last four or five years but was put off by a lot of what I was reading. Many places offer “spiritual” advice that I do not agree with intertwined within their herbalist teachings. I want to learn about the natural healing properties of plants without asking for their permission to harvest and use them. This is why I was super excited last Fall when I heard that Jan was writing a book! I knew that she would keep to the tried and true information about herbs without adding the stuff I wasn’t looking for. I really like how the book is broken down for those just learning about herbs and their healing properties. The list of recipes and projects by their main herb ingredient is complete genius as well as a great quick reference. I have headed out to the local health-food store with a large list of herbs to come home and completely forget what I wanted to make!
