Dr. Seuss Style Birthday Party
Last year for Lil’ Red’s 2nd birthday we had a Dr. Seuss style birthday party. I created some activities for Tot School then, but was not blogging and have not shared them, yet! We go a little theme crazy for birthdays (just ask my hubby!). I spent tons of time searching for ideas online and with the advent of pinterest I can organize my ideas on my Kid’s Party Ideas board!
The local library had a Dr. Seuss Day so Eldest decided to create a Horton costume to wear. This was worn again for Lil’ Red’s 2nd birthday. (Well, at least for a little while so we could get pictures before it fell apart during games.)
We always plan games to go along with our birthday party themes. The bad thing is I have given up photo duty to my sister and she doesn’t always get all the pictures that I would take. Lesson learned the hard way. We are now trying to remember all the games we had.
We made Horton Hears a Who pencils BEFORE the party since it involved hot glue! Each guest got to take a pencil for their goodie bags!
Saw this idea for a baby shower and thought it was cute! Not very many people where game for it but it is still a great idea.
We had lots of Dr. Seuss Books on display throughout the party and had a variety of games related to the books. We had a Yertle the Turtle Stacking game, a goldfish guessing game, jello fish and elephants, “roast beast” sandwiches, and crazy confetti cupcakes (since I could not find a Dr. Seuss character that was small enough for a cake anywhere local!)
