If you are like me then you still have some Christmas shopping to do! I am wanting to stretch my dollar as well as give a meaningful gift. I think a children’s Bible or kids devotional would make for a life impacting present. We do own quite a few baby, toddler, and preschool Bibles and story books which are very nice. I am highlighting gifts as part of a blogger program through Family Christian stores.
I have four children and four nieces whom I could buy either a Children’s Bible or Devotional item for Christmas or birthdays. Family Christian stores offers a wide selection of books and Bibles from reputable publishing companies such as Bethany House, Thomas Nelson, Tyndale, and Zondervan.
I have selected some of our favorite children’s Bibles and devotional books that we OWN. Yes, that’s right we own each and everyone of these wonderful treasures. You can find each and everyone of them at Family Christian stores.

Bibles for Elementary School Children
Children’s Favorite Bible Stories is a family treasury of stories that will help children and families grow together in their faith and knowledge of the Bible. Using the International Children’s Bible (ICB) version of the Bible text, this book includes almost 200 Bible stories, as well as meaningful and fun family activities. Prayer prompts, definitions of new and special words and helpful introductions to the stories and books of the Bible will help little ones grow in their understanding of the text as they discover the stories for the first time.
Based on her original best-selling book, Jesus Calling, this version has been adapted in a language and fashion that kids and tweens can relate to their everyday lives. In Jesus Calling: 365 Devotions for Kids, the devotions are written as if Jesus is speaking directly to a child’s heart. After many years of writing in her prayer journal, missionary Sarah Young decided to “listen” to God with pen in hand, writing down whatever she believed He was saying to her. It was awkward at first, but gradually her journaling changed from monologue to dialogue. She knew her writings were not inspired as Scripture is, but they were helping her grow closer to God. They are written from Jesus’ point of view, thus the title Jesus Calling. I recently received a copy of Jesus Today Devotion for Kids!
Bibles for Middle School Children
This is one category that I look forward to adding to since Eldest is in 6th grade and Princess is in 5th grade. I am currently looking for a good study Bible that can be used from 5th through 12th grade without becoming too childish as they finish high school.
I’ll definitely be keeping you posted as to our favorite Middle School and Teens Bibles as soon as we get one that we like. I am sure we will come across a few to share in the near future.

Oh these are such great recommendations! We have always read from and taken advantage of bibles for little ones. I can remember the excitement when our kids could read the bible by them self.
You can never start too early to instill the Word in your children.
And of course, Family Christian Bookstore always has the best availability and pricing on Bibles and other faith based gifts.

I really like how you highlighted different Bibles/Devos for different ages. It’s great for those parents/family looking for ones in different areas. That was an awesome sale Family Christian had at Christmas time. For other readers – be on the lookout for sale with Family Christian…they ALWAYS have something going on!
