Mother Daughter Beauty Time

January 11, 2018 By Thaleia 1 Comment

Educational Games for 2-8 Year Olds

I never learned how to apply makeup from my mom when I was growing up. I wanted to learn when I was 12 years old and all the other girls were coming to school with foundation two shades too dark but my mom said I needed to wait till I was 13. Sometime between my twelfth and thirteenth birthdays my mom got really sick with mono I believe so I never learned how to apply makeup for a natural look. I do not wear very much makeup to this day because of it and I am almost 40.

Mother Daughter Time Neutrogena

I do not want that to happen with my daughter so I have decided we can learn some basic tips together. She is more of a girly-girl than I remember being so this should work out nicely. Since we were accepted into a program for Neutrogena products I thought this would give us a great chance to test the waters with our “beginning to use makeup journey”.

We were given the choice between two new product lines: Neutrogena® Hydro Boost  or Neutrogena® SkinClearing. Since Princess doesn’t battle acne we decided to check out the product options within the Neutrogena® Hydro Boost cosmetic line. We checked out some of the product options online to learn more about Neutrogena® Hydro Boost Cosmetics here and Neutrogena® SkinClearing Cosmetics here.

We decided that the new Neutrogena® Hydro Boost Hydrating Lip Shine would be of the most interest to us along with the Hydrating Lip Treatment.

“NEW Neutrogena® Hydro Boost Hydrating Lip Shine has the vibrant color of a lipstick, shine of a gloss, and conditioning of a balm. It plumps the look of lips and keeps them looking smoother, juicy, and more supple. The lip shine actually improves the healthy look, softness, smoothness and condition of your lips over time.”

Make sure that you check out all 8 shades online before heading to your local Walmart to buy some!

Neutrogena choosing lip shine

We like to keep as natural a look as possible unless it’s ballet performance time then some additional makeup may be used by Princess. Since we do not wear foundation or concealer normally we decided to look at Neutrogena’s Hydro Boost hydrating lip treatment and Hydro Boost hydrating lip shine. A simple yet elegant touch of color to our lips is always welcomed.

Princess chose the color called Soft Blush 10 while I chose the color called Flushed Coral 30. She was surprised at how tough it was to get the wand out of the tube but I reassured her that’s the way it’s supposed to be so it doesn’t spill everywhere.

Princess applying lip shine

She really likes how easy it was to apply and how nice the shade works with her complexion and skintone. The shine really is very nice and pretty. She remarked how soft her lips feel after applying it.

Are you looking for a fun way to spend an afternoon with your daughter? Maybe you can try a mother daughter makeover or just pick up a new shade of lip color to try like we did. We loved the nice range of 8 shades available in the new Hydro Boost hydrating lip shine.

This reminds me of when my daughter was alive as she had turned 13 and for her Birthday we invited her friends and moms over so we could host a Mary Kay Skin Care class and everyone learned the right way to put on Make-Up if only I had listened in as I need lots of help.
