The main hub for sports activities in Piqua is the Pitsenbarger Sports Complex. This multi-function space is located off South St. and McKinley Ave. We usually visit the park once a year for Vacation Bible School picnic but also enjoy some of the other amenities found here.
There’s a large concession building located near the baseball fields which I am sure is a hopping place most Spring nights with all the Piqua Youth Baseball games.
Princess wanted to take Bayley with us out to see the football and soccer fields. Bayley had lots of fun sniffing and exploring all the sights and sounds of the park.
There’s a nice paved path that leads out to the football fields which Princess and Bayley took advantage of by running back through Pitsenbarger Sports Complex .
The Pitsenbarger Sports Complex includes a nice fenced in tennis court area right off the parking lot which we often forget about since we don’t play much tennis!
There is a nice bathroom building which is centrally located in Pitsenbarger Sports Complex right by the old playground across the parking lot from the tennis courts.
The old playground area has one small shelter and a few play things to help keep younger siblings occupied during long tournament days.
Around the corner from the smaller play ground before you get to the pool and skate park is the Special Needs Playground.
While we were out taking pictures we saw some ladies walking who brought their dog to exercise in the park. Since we homeschool and could visit during the day we didn’t run into anyone else but I know during the Summer the park will be super busy!
Near the McKinley Ave entrance is the Airman 1st Class William H. Pitsenbarger Statue and Memorial.
