Upcycled Gift Card Ornament

Want to know what to do with all those used up gift cards?
Why not turn them into a super cute and green ornament!

upcycled gift card ornament

Princess helped to create the ornament pictured! Very easy, “green” craft that anyone can make. All you need are some basic supplies of scrapbook paper, decorative punches, glue stick, sand paper, ribbon,  eyelet & eyelet setter and modge podge.

You can find my step-by-step tutorial on Tutu’s and Tea Parties! Head on over and check it out and meet Lauren who hosted an Ornament Swap this year.

Quick Ribbon Ironing Tutorial

September 18, 2012 By Thaleia 3 Comments

No More Wrinkled Ribbon

I found some super cute hot pink ribbon from a gift bag. The gift bag was ripped and needed to be purged! The ribbon was too nice to throw out. I love wide satin ribbon:)

I told princess I was going to show her how to iron ribbon to salvage it. She offered all on her own to video it for me! Such a sweet girl. So no rehearsal, no editing. No time to clean off the kitchen table, lol. (it is a mess. long weekend, sick Eldest, and playgroup with Lil’ Red!)

Supplies:

wrinkled ribbon

Flat-iron– any size should work (make sure it’s not gunky from hairspray, etc.)

Here’s our tutorial shot after lunch:

Now you can keep your eye out for super cute satin ribbon and revive it with a quick iron. Other places to find ribbon besides gift bags would be Christmas gift packs of clothes or jammies.

Happy crafting:)
