Turkey Felt Finger Puppets
Need something cute and fun for the kids do to while the turkey is roasting? How about a cute pair of turkey felt finger puppets to help pass the time? These cute little gobblers will be the hit of your Thanksgiving or Harvest Party. They would make great party favors for Farm themed party. Quick and easy to make even with very little sewing experience.
What child wouldn’t just love a pair of cute turkey felt finger puppets? My kids like to play with puppets even Eldest who is 10 1/2 will use them with Lil’ Red or Baby C-4 to entertain them. Eldest antics paired with a fun looking puppet is sure to get a grin or giggle every time. So off to the fabric store or your felt stash to begin your own set of felt finger puppets!
Materials:
Felt- tan, orange, red, and brown
Thread- matching tan or contrasting
Feathers- short 2 1/2″ to 3″ brightly colored
Sewing machine or hand sewing needle
Download a pattern for turkey puppets.
1) Start with tan felt as the body of the turkey.
2) Trace and cut the pieces for the eyes and wattle.
3) Stitch eyes and wattle in place.
4) Lay feathers on back piece of body.
5) Stitch feathers onto body. Trim points as needed.
6) Stitch front and back together.
You could use hot glue for most of the steps but I would still sew on the feathers to be sure they are secure. I would not allow an infant, cat, or small dog play with these for chance that the feathers could be a choking hazard. Keep a close eye on a toddler or preschooler who sticks things in their mouths as well.
Lil’ Red is demonstrating how much fun a pair of Turkey felt finger puppets can be. They can wrestle, peck one another, fight like super heroes, you know all the usual rough boy play. These little turkeys were actually made a couple years ago and have stood up pretty well.

This is a cute and fun craft for the kids. With Thanksgiving right around the corner, these are a great idea to accompany all the stories that we will be reading about turkeys in the coming days too.

What a fantastic idea! Those puppets are so cute. Thanks so much for sharing on the home school link up. I’m pining and sharing this post. I think parents would really love to do something like this on Thanksgiving (instead of having the kids be underfoot in the kitchen).
Thanks for this!
