Since early Fall 2017 I have been trying to encourage my mama heart by listening to podcasts for homeschool moms. I hope to find the best podcasts for homeschool encouragement that is easy to listen to early in the morning before my children wake up. I will also listen to podcasts sometimes while I work.
Another local homeschool mom posted a picture on Instagram that she was at a conference for homeschool mom’s. This peeked my interest because I had not heard about this conference or community. I had often prided myself in “staying up” on current homeschool trends but I had not heard about Wild + Free and I wanted to learn more! I looked them up online and found a wonderful community that includes a podcast.
It’s hard to find their podcasts on their site bewildandfree.org. I personally use my old ipod nano and iTunes but there are a few other places as well… SoundCloud or Player FM or iTunes
I think the Wild + Free podcast mentioned Sarah Mackenzie from the Read Aloud Revival so off I went to search out her podcast. I cannot read aloud with voices like my husband does but I still value the opportunity to listen to audiobooks with my children. I have to admit that we haven’t been very consistent in doing so but it’s one of my goals for 2018 of being more intentional in our homeschool!
From there I found Your Morning Basket from Pam Barnhill which lead to Homeschool Snapshots as well! Two for the price of one, lol.
Since I had found these three podcasts I naturally searched iTunes for some more. I wanted to arm my mama heart and mind with new homeschool knowledge as well as encouragement.
I found Vintage Homeschool Moms podcast with Felice Gerwitz and Homeschool High School podcast from 7Sisters. Of course both of these are part of Ultimate Homeschool Radio Network Shows which features many more podcasts that I have yet to listen to so I cannot recommend them just yet!
Homeschool IRL-These witty podcasters like to poke sticks at the conventional and with heaps of grace they will confront a few of the sacred cows that Christian homeschoolers like to worship. Fletch and Kendra love the Gospel and will remind their listeners on every episode of the freedom that Christ pours out in generous amounts. Grace Wins!
Homeschool Unrefined– Grab a coffee (or kombucha) and chat with Maren and Angela. We’re here to encourage, laugh, and get real about homeschool. We want less of what the world is telling us we need to teach, and more of our true selves. We want less hoops to jump through, and more time to cuddle up and read books. Less chains, more freedom. Shorter to-do lists, more free time. Less stress, more inspiration. Less planning, more being. Less fret, more savoring. Let’s do this together!
Brave Writer by Julie Bogart a homeschool mom and curriculum writer who also lives in Ohio! I just started listening and love the way her son Noah interact.
The Homeschool Sanity show by Melanie Wilson, PhD is a down to earth show by a mother of 6! Melanie shares a lots of tips and encouragement to keep you from pulling your hair out!
Cultivating Grace by Lara from Everday Grace as she shares how to cultivate grace into the principles and practices of homeschool and motherhood.
I hope that this list of best podcasts for homeschool encouragement are just what you need as you are reading this post looking for encouragement for your mama’s heart!
If I have left out one of your favorite podcasts that should be on our best podcasts list please leave a comment letting me know! Be sure to pin this post and share it with other homechool mom’s to encourage them and their mama’s heart.
Updated 12/10/2018 to add more podcast titles that I enjoyed listening to and to state that using the Google Podcast app has made finding and listening to good podcasts super easy!
