Hiking Gear For Under $20 #BudgetFriendly #GiftGuide #GetOutdoors

October 18, 2018 By Thaleia 1 Comment

Cooler Autumn weather has got me in the hiking mood. Since the weather is colder I wanted to be sure I had the proper hiking gear to be able to enjoy being outdoors. I have joined a few groups to learn more about hiking and will share those with you in another post called Hiking for Beginners. I will also be sharing more about various hiking packs once I try those out.

Summer Nature Hike with The Listening Walk FIAR & #NatureBookClub {Link Up}

June 20, 2018 By Thaleia Leave a Comment

June is here and so is another installment of our Nature Book Club. We choose The Listening Walk as our book since this month’s theme is Nature Hike and Discovery! We also decided to visit a smaller park in our town that has paved paths in the middle of the forest. This park also allows dogs on leash to visit which made it fun for Princess to bring Bayley. We made sure to bring our binoculars, a few smaller field guides and water.

Linear Park Bike Path Piqua, Ohio #30Places30Days #BikePiqua

May 5, 2017 By Thaleia Leave a Comment

Our city has been developing and paving on the bike path for the last decade I believe. Honestly we have never walked or rode the entire loop but Eldest and Princess went on a short ride to Lock Nine and back. They rode together and had a cell phone in case of an emergency while on the bike path.

We do not suggestion children under the age of 12 ride without adults and definitely NOT without a buddy! Since they were familiar with the area and how to get to the bike path and back home I felt comfortable allowing them to go by themselves. I would love to ride as a family but we are still getting enough bikes in the correct sizes for everyone. Big Red and Lil’ Red do not ride without training wheels. Our goal this Summer is to help teach Big Red how to ride without training wheels so we can enjoy the bike path as a family!
