It’s been almost two years since we last stayed in Columbus and we have never stayed near or at the Convention Center! We were able to book our stay at the Drury Inn Convention Center location without any problems over the phone. This hotel stay allowed us to enjoy a visit to COSI and participation in an event at Macy’s Easton Towne Center!
We have heard good things about Drury Inn from their free breakfast to the incredible Kickback® from 5:30pm -7:00pm each evening, but it was time to check it out for ourselves! The kids of course were excited about the pool. Mom and Dad were excited about all the food including the popcorn that is served from 3pm to 10 pm-score! I didn’t even have to remember to pack bags of microwave popcorn for our bedtime snack.
We have very picky eaters and I was a little worried that my children wouldn’t find enough to eat. As you can see from the smile on Eldest’s face that he really enjoyed Kickback®! Among our “dinner” food choices were baked potatoes, penne pasta with marinara sauce, meatballs, hot dogs, chili and a create your own salad bar.
We have never been to a place that offered and indoor/outdoor pool! It was the craziest thing we had ever seen. The kids really enjoyed going from indoors to outdoors without having to leave the pool!
The hotel lobby was massive, but we did not take advantage of it because we only visited the food area and the pool. There was a nice lounge area that included a bench seat partition area.
In another area there were tables with comfy chairs and a piano. I think that Riley might have played a tune or two had he seen the piano nestled in the front corner.
The guest rooms themselves were very well styled and comfortable. Each Queen sized bed came with four pillows which allowed each person to have his or her own pillow! A variety of lighting choices allowed for bright or dark room depending on time of day and needs. This room came with a mini fridge, microwave, flat screen tv and hair dryer. A nice sized desk allowed for eating or work space.
Among the usual cold cereal and milk for breakfast were lots of hot food choices like Belgian waffles, eggs, sausage, potatoes, biscuits and gravy, and an oatmeal bar. There was an offering of fresh fruit as well like apples, bananas, and oranges. Bagels, donuts, yogurt, coffee, and hot tea were all options for breakfast in the morning.
We had the chance to stay at Drury Inn a few years ago but passed due to the “cost” per night but that was before I knew about Kickback®, Popcorn Snacktime, and Breakfast Buffet! Now we will never pass up the chance to stay at a Drury Inn! It made our weekend so much easier NOT having to pack all the extra food that we normally would at a cheaper hotel!

Wow, thanks for the personal recommedation and all the great photos! We will be traveling to Columbus soon and now I know where to stay!
We’ve enjoyed Drury Inns on choir trips before… and they were so nice and clean. Friendly service really counts too! (And a swimming pool!!!)
It’s so hard to find a good hotel using the internet these days… so many annoying ads and impersonal checkins!
