Hermie and Friends: I Will Trust God DVD (Review and Giveaway)

February 26, 2014 By Thaleia 7 Comments

When the package arrived last week my kids were a little bummed at first. Sometimes they get a little antsy for something for them instead of stuff for mom! Once the package was opened to reveal the NEWEST Hermie & Friends Movie, I Will trust God, that “wasn’t even available in stores, yet” they got very excited. Eldest and Princess recognized Hermie right away from watching other episodes at Grandma’s house. I smiled with great pleasure in knowing that they have watched and liked these movies even at ages 11 and 9!

Hermie & Friends DVD Giveaway

The boys watched Hermie while Mom, Princess and Baby attended to other things around the house. Lil’ Red has asked to watch the video numerous times since and really enjoys the characters. I really enjoy the message of TRUST!

Product Description:

*Teaches children important lessons about trusting God, no matter what the circumstance
Trust in the Lord and His plans for you!

When God asks Hermie to build a boat but doesn’t tell him why, the adventure of Hermie and the High Seas begins. The other garden bugs choose not to help because they are busy and don’t see the need for a boat in the garden. But when the rain comes and the garden floods, all of the bugs run to Hermie’s boat. Everyone in the garden has to learn to trust God, even when it doesn’t make sense.

In Who is in Charge Anyway, Freddie the flea learns from Hermie and the other bugs that God gave everyone his or her own unique gifts and talent. Some are strong, others can spin webs. But what is special about a flea? Freddie has to learn to trust that God has given him his own talents and has a special plan for him. God didn’t make anybody by accident, and He’s not finished with any of us yet!

Once, I was on my way to visit my aunt and I saw a man going behind a building, I knew right away he was homeless. God told me to stop at Mcdonalds and buy the man breakfast and take it to him. I drove behind the building and the man was like what, I just told him that God wanted him to have that hot breakfast and have a good day. I always give money when I see someone homeless but nothing ever about breakfast. I was trusting God to keep me safe since it was just the man and me.

Id say when moving to the country, it was something we wanted to do as a family.

Moving away from both of our families 5 years ago was a real faith-builder for me.

When 9/11 happened less that a year after my husband enlisted in the Marines. He was deployed multiple times after that and put in some very dangerous places. Everything worked out in the end, but it was definitely a challenge trusting in the midst of it.

Military service is tough. We are friends with a family that had husband deployed shortly after the birth of a baby – 2 times! I would try to help keep mom’s spirit up by coming over and cleaning and teaching how to cook. So glad he was kept safe!

Sometimes hubby and I think moving away from family would be a dream come true! I know the kids would miss their grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins though.
