How to Help Kids Stay Hydrated During the Summer #Switch2BODYARMOR #BringIt #Sponsored

June 14, 2017 By Thaleia 12 Comments

This post is sponsored by Kroger and BODYARMOR although all opinions are my own. I was able to participate in this program via the Mom It Forward Influencer Network.

Do your children love to be active during the warm Summer weather? From biking to boating to swimming to playing at the park my kids are on the go all Summer long! It can be a challenge to help them stay hydrated during the Summer when they are focused on fun Summer activities.

How to Help Kids Stay Hydrated During the Summer

One way that we prepare for our busy Summer days is to make sure our water pitcher is filled each night. We fill up our water bottles so that they are cold in the morning when we head to the park. Nothing like heading out the door to find that someone left their water bottle in the car or forgot to fill it the night before. Ice is a commodity at our house since we don’t have an ice maker!

Eldest and Princess are taking dog projects with 4-H this year which means they will be outside attending meetings twice a week. These obedience training’s are outside at a local park and even though they are primarily in the shade it still gets hot.

Staying hydrated is important for both Eldest and Princess to have enough focus and energy to work with Axle and Bayley!

Our family also stays pretty active in the Summer with daily trips to playgrounds and parks as well as monthly trips to Lake Loramie State Park beach. The kids love playing in the lake and having fun in the sun which means they need to stay hydrated to prevent heat stroke. We made sure to pack snacks, water and Sports drinks.

Sports drinks are another way to stay hydrated when your child is really active, it is really hot or they are just “tired of plain water”. I just found out about a sports drink with no artificial flavors or sweeteners called BODYARMOR. This new sports drink is great for busy moms with active kids who need to stay hydrated. BODYARMOR is a great alternative to traditional sports drinks because it contains potassium-packed electrolytes, coconut water and vitamins. This hydrating beverage is high in potassium and low in sodium. I never knew the importance of potassium until Eldest was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes and he needed potassium to balance out his hydration level while in the hospital.

If you would like to learn more about BODYARMOR then please check out the BODYARMOR website.

I am training for a marathon this summer, so I would love to try these drinks. It would be the perfect way to replenish after a long training run.

    Susan,

They also have coconut water but you really don’t get overwhelmed by a coconut taste!

My son is out for hours in the hot sun playing with his friends in the neighborhood. He could benefit from this.

The kids are always outside and it is super hot this summer. This would be so perfect to have for this record heat we are having this year.
