Today we have another review to share with you as part of the TOS Review Crew! We had the privilege to explore Resurrection: Multi-Level from Grapevine Studies.
When it comes to curriculum, one of the biggest challenges we face as a homeschool family is finding something that is a good fit for all of our children. It’s not always possible to find curriculum that is engaging for our 5 year old but won’t draw eye rolls from our 11 year old and 13 year old.
The Resurrection Grapevine Study fits that criteria for us even better that we had hoped. Big Red and Princess both really enjoyed drawing the stick figures to go along with the lessons. Big Red was really excited about tracing his stick figures and couldn’t wait to hear each part of the stories. Princess commented after the very first time we used the curriculum how the timeline and the drawings really helped to reinforce what was being taught. While Eldest was working to finish up another project and didn’t get to participate in the initial lesson, he is very artistic and after seeing what the others were doing he is genuinely looking forward to participating with his siblings, which isn’t something that happens very often.
One of the things I most like about the Resurrection Grapevine Study is that it was very easy to jump right into with the kids. It is for the most part, very straight forward with simple steps to follow. The teacher’s guide was a bit confusing at times, which probably would have been clearer with a bit more preparation on my part. Realistically though, things are usually pretty hectic around our house so a lot of lesson prep just isn’t feasible. The fact that the lessons go pretty smoothly even with next to no pre-planning is a huge bonus for us.
The Multi-Level Student Traceable edition of The Resurrection Study makes is super simple for both Big Red and Lil’ Red to follow along. Since Big Red is in kindergarten this is his first year of “school” and Lil’ Red loves doing Tot School trays and anything he can that looks like the big kids work. He loves drawing and stories so this is a really great Bible curriculum to add to our family’s choices.
The Resurrection Grapevine Study also offers different schedules depending on what your needs are. It can be broken down into 40 daily lessons which is what we are using for homeschooling. However it can also be used in an 11 week study that would be ideal for a Sunday School class or weekly homeschool co-op. There are many other topical Bible Studies that Grapevine Studies offer that you are sure to enjoy throughout the entire year!
Going forward we plan to continue the Resurrection Grapevine Study through Easter this year and plan to revisit this Bible study for many years to come.
