March was quite a whirlwind which ended with my husband getting a blood transfusion for anemia. He also has had numerous labs and was scheduled to see two specialists. So far everyone isn’t overly concerned but he won’t officially be cleared until his hemoglobin count stays up and his “scopes” come back with good results. He has been tired, easily winded, and had been experiencing lots of headaches which we mostly attributed to the stress of his job. We have kept going each day by trying to fill our blog commitments, planning vacation, working on goals and just plugging along day by day.
Warmer weather has had me itching to get our garden growing which we did by starting seeds in egg cartons. Princess is my main helper with keeping the plants watered. Lil’ Red is my helper with the digging outside. All of the boys helped with some tree removal that needed to be done for a safe digging spot!
Goals in Progress:
Blogging & Social Media Goals
Still blogging at a nice pace and trying to cut way back on reviews. Time for more real-life posts and activities along with our general life stuff. You might even find me spilling my gust, I mean heart a time or two.
Hubby and I were able to attend one day of Word Camp together and then Saturday I went by myself. He stayed home with the kids which allowed me to meet a new blogging friend! Tricia and her friend just started a new blog called, Chicks with Chai. She is uber passionate about Down Syndrome. Stop over and say hi!
I became a co-host of We Love Weekends which goes live each Friday. Be sure to stop in and link up your family friendly activity post. Be inspired by other’s projects or ideas to make YOUR weekend COUNT!
Homeschool Goals
We still have a lot of loose ends to wrap up with SD Accerlerate and all sorts of other learning fun. I plan to do more audio learning while headed to parks and Spring activities. I have narrowed our audiobook selection down to a few but didn’t print the workbooks, yet! Torn between our Summer Read before we Watch the Movie list and what we should do for “actual” school.
We are still making our way through the Top 10 Subscription boxes for Kids! Hubby helped complete the EEME project which was a huge hit.
Household & Marriage Goals
We have been spending time together but not quite the way we imaged. The hours spent at the doctors offices or while waiting for the blood transfusion to be completed weren’t what I expected. God wants us to have time together so I better plan some fun this month cause we are both tired of the doctor’s waiting room “date time”, lol. We do have a movie screening for War Room the first week of May as a date night!
Personal Mommy Goals
I was the fun mom and took my kids to Jumpy’s Fun Zone for 3 1/2 hours to jump, run around, and play Laser Tag. Hubby stayed home with Lil’ Red who isn’t tall enough to legally jump on a bounce house just, yet. We also made it to Gem City Comic Con which isn’t really an interest of mine but everyone had a pretty good time.
I need some friends RL or online I don’t really care but I need regular community. I need people to share my mommy drama with who are sympathetic and not judgmental. I need a few homeschool mom’s who have struggled but are victorious. I still want to spruce up my appearance and wardrobe as well as have a girls night quarterly.
Financial Goals
We are headed to Put-in-Bay for vacation since we were accepted as part of #bloggingatCP bloggers. Cedar Point and Hotel Breakers will be giving us a nice stay which has prompted me to reach out to some other area businesses like Miller Ferry to partner with them. I really anticipate a wonderful week in the Lake Erie Shores area! Stay tuned on social media to hear how we plan, pack, and play #LakeErieLove
Health & Fitness Goals
Still a work in progress. Somedays I am energized to kick my to-do lists butt and other days it’s kicking mine. Life can be so hard and lonely and frustrating. I need to figure out breakfast for everyone that is simple and nutritious. I need to be drinking a ton more water and tea or lemonade. I need to take the kids for walks around the block daily with hubby so we can all build strength, stamina, and a wee bit of cardio. I love nature trails and hiking but with Lil’ Red they have to be pretty flat and easy going.
So how’s things going in your neck of the woods? Has life thrown you some curveballs lately? Are you still planning? Are you still praying? I hope that you are. Please take some time to share what’s working for you or if you have some recipe ideas for crockpots or breakfast- I would love to read them.
