Our First Trip to Cedar Point and Hotel Breakers

As a Cedar Point blogger, I received a complimentary stay at Hotel Breakers and tickets to Cedar Point. All opinions are my own.

Believe it or not I am the only one of my family that has ever been to Cedar Point until recently. We had the privilege to visit Cedar Point Amusement Park AND stay at Hotel Breakers. I was really excited when I first read the email that we were accepted into the #BloggingatCP program. This program allows bloggers to visit the various properties of Cedar Point and then share their experiences over social media and via blog post.

Join me as I tell about our first trip to Cedar Point.  It all started 9 weeks before our arrival date as I read an email from Bryan Edwards offering us a stay at the gorgeously remodeled Hotel Breakers and a day of fun at Cedar Point!

Eldest and Princess were not sure what Cedar Point was so they set out to do their research. Since the park was still in “Winter” mode they were able to view some Live Cams and see what the park looked all quiet and empty. They perused the website to find ride descriptions and height requirements. They began to get excited when they realized that it was like a non-stop carnival without paying by-the-ride. Princess excitedly made her list of MUST Ride attractions. Eldest was still contemplating how wild of a ride he could handle.

I decided to check more in depth as well into park layout, rules for food, accommodations for Type 1 Diabetes, stroller usage, etc. The usual stuff a mom of 2 kids 5 and under would need to know. I found out that Cedar Point has a really great program for Autism Spectrum Disorder families which was impressive. I really like that they have different kid areas for little kids like Camp Snoopy.

Hotel Breakers had really nice rooms that included a mini fridge with freezer. The beds were comfy and offered 4 pillows per bed! When we first arrived one of the outlets was missing it’s cover. I called the front desk and had a maintenance person at our room door in around 5 minutes. This was very impressive to me with the property size that Hotel Breakers is.

Lifeguards are present at all times that the indoor pool is open which made it nice to be able to send our oldest two children on down while getting the younger children ready. They even accommodate the youngest of guests with child size seating in the lobby. The kids (and my husband) had a great time in the arcade as well.

We took advantage of the souvenir cup (which we forgot to buy online ahead of time!) and two All Day Dining Plans which we totally utilized! You are allowed to eat every 90 minutes so I set my phone alarm to go off every 80 minutes or so to give us time to get to a meal plan location. One of the meals we chose was Chinese from Panda Express.

We even took in a show while at Cedar Point- TWICE!! My little guys liked the Charlie Brown’s Funtime Frolics show so much we saw and participated in it twice.

Overall we had a really great time while staying at Hotel Breakers and visiting Cedar Point.

I have such fond memories of cedar point growing up. I just can’t see spending all that money until the kids are all at least school age. Kings Island is the same. Looks like you guys had a blast though!

I’ve been hoping to get my boys to either Cedar Point or Kings Island this summer, not sure if it will happen before school starts though.
