One of the parks that my children love going to each Summer is Shoup Park in Beavercreek, Ohio. We usually only visit it once or twice a year due to the time it takes us to get there but the drive is so worth it. We make sure to pack our water bottles, snack bags, sun screen and wax paper.
Yes! You read that right. Wax paper is a must for the long metal slide at Shoup Park! The wax paper helps make the slide faster which means more fun for the kids.
This year as we pulled onto Meadow Bridge Drive I exclaimed, “Look kids they added more stuff to the park and it’s awesome!”
I was so pleased to find that the long metal slide was still there as well as a handful of new play things. One of the more popular play areas was the zipline swing. Here’s a picture of Big Red having a great time!
The park was full of kids but with 3 picnic areas and a picnic table in the shade it didn’t seem too bad. Under one yellow umbrella shelter area someone was holding a birthday party. A daycare was using the old shelter house and various families were eating lunch at the other two spots. We ended eating in the shade of a tree which wasn’t a big deal for my kids.
All four of my kids enjoyed climbing on this rope climbing structure which they dubbed “The Web”.
We met up with my friend and her three kids and her dog, Daisy! Big Red really enjoyed petting Daisy as did a handful of the other children playing at the park. Thanks to Tiffany for providing this sweet picture!
Big Red-“My favorite thing are the ropes. They are perfect for climbing. They are like hang up by these metal bars in the big huge ball shaped and are lots of fun.”
I think the double swing for baby and parent is such an awesome thing. I wished I had been able to use this when my children were little!
Eldest-” I really like the addition of the zip line and the ropes that you can climb on but the slide will always be my favorite.”
Lil’ Red-“Hi this is little red I went to a park today and had lots of fun. I was in a tunnel and it was my favorite thing to do.”
Princess-“The park was fun we met up with old peeps and they have a dog named Daisy. We love going down the big metal slide on wax paper.”
Pros of Shoup Park-
- Lots of places to play and sit to eat lunch.
- Equipment for a wide range of ages.
