For the Love of Swimming #LetsPowerTheirDreams #ad

August 9, 2016 By Thaleia 3 Comments

This is a sponsored post for SheSpeaks and P&G proud sponsors of Team USA and Dana Vollmer.

It’s no secret that my children love water and love swimming! Each time our children hear that we might be staying at a hotel or going on a blog trip they ask, “Is there going to be a pool?” Their love of swimming goes on all year long no matter what the weather. They know that sometimes we can go to an indoor water park as part of our homeschool PE while other times they enjoy the warm days of Summer while in a pool outdoors!

For the Love of Swimming

Are you excited for The Olympic Games that are going on this month? Have you ever thought about training and competing? Have you thought that maybe one of your children may be cut out to perform during a future Olympic Games? All of my children love water and swimming so I could imagine that maybe, just maybe, one of them could be a future Olympian. We do not own a pool or even a YMCA membership at this point but that does not stop their love for water and swimming.

Troy Aquatic Center

I have noticed the joy and delight on Lil’ Red’s face each and every time we get a chance to go to a pool, water park or aquatic center. When does fun become more then a hobby? Will this fun Summer activity one day become his life long dream? Well, only time will tell but as a parent I can be supportive of him exploring water via the pool, creek, pond, or lake. I can provide him many different opportunities to learn and grow. I can read him books about swimming and water. We can play with water in different forms like ice to learn scientific properties!

Swimming Lil' Red

Are you watching The Olympic Games with your family this Summer? We have enjoyed quite a few events so far cheering for Team USA! We are so excited to partner with P&G via this She Speaks post to share our experiences with Pampers the supporter of Olympian Dana Vollmer. While Lil’ Red is still being potty trained it is essential that we always pack enough diapers for whatever adventures await us. Did you know that Pampers® Swaddlers Diapers pulls wetness and mess away from your baby’s skin with an Absorb-Away Liner AND has a wetness indicator which is very nice. We want to encourage you to shop for P&G brands at Walmart to support Team USA and Dana Vollmer.

Charlie and I are just like your children and would Swim year round if we could. And last year we had a membership to our local gym and used it for Homeschooling. And I miss it a lot as it allowed me to lose weight and the Hot Tub helped the pain in my knee. So one day I hope to be able to sign us back up for it. And if not we can do a weeknight away and stay in a Hotel with a inside pool.

    Glenda,
Does your’s offer a financial scholarship program for discounted membership fees? We have done that a few times so we could have access to the YMCA:)

Why We Love Swim Team. It is a life skill that every child should know–drowning rates for kids are truly astounding and as a result I feel that every child should know enough swimming skills to be able to save themselves should they fall into a body of water, be it a bathtub, swimming pool or a lake.
