Ways to Have a Mom’s Night Out

September 23, 2015 By Thaleia Leave a Comment

This is a conversation of behalf of Groupon but all opinions and thoughts are my own. Affiliate links have been used in this post.

With all the children now settled into their school routine and Fall approaching, I think it’s time for another Mom’s Night Out! From MOPS, to our local Homeschool group, to church Women’s Night, I have been privy to a variety of Mom’s Night Out events.

Ways to Have a Cheap Mom's Night Out

Mom’s deserve a night out, especially the single mom, the wife of a traveling hubby, or mom’s with special needs children. I am a mom of four very unique and sometimes needy children whether it’s a teething tot or my Type 1 Diabetic with high blood sugar. All children need a mom who is able to help them grow and feel loved. This is exactly why moms deserve a few hours to hang out with friends to gab or relax with a massage.

I am here to tell you that I have often hesitated in attending some events due to cost but that doesn’t have to be the case with a little planning and the use of Groupon Coupons! [Tweet “Enjoy a great Mom’s Night Out at an awesome price with@something2offer.comGroupon #deals”]

Goodbye Free App of the Day Hello Amazon Underground

September 18, 2015 By Thaleia Leave a Comment

Do you remember the Free App of the Day that Amazon used to offer? Well that is now a thing of the past. Don’t be sad because Amazon now has a new “program” called Amazon Underground! Very similar to the Free App of the Day but way cooler since many items are free instead just a few.

Easy Cheesy Broccoli Chicken Casserole

September 17, 2015 By Thaleia 1 Comment

Getting dinner on the table can be one of the most stressful times of day. If you are like us and have small children and work at home the day can be mostly over before you know it! That’s where a yummy recipe like this easy cheesy broccoli chicken casserole is a great find. Cooking your own meals from scratch will save you tons of money by not going through the drive-thru or ordering take-out!

This chicken casserole is super easy and quick but nutritious. Both Princess and Eldest could make this with very little instruction. The hardest part of this recipe is cooking the rice!

Kindergarten STEM Apple Activity {with Free Printable}

September 15, 2015 By Thaleia 13 Comments

It’s almost Fall on the calendar and in our neck of the woods means it’s Apple season! We will soon be going to a local family’s orchard in order to pick all the apples we want for free! We’ve done this for the last three or four years and have canned apple butter and applesauce to enjoy once Winter set’s in. Since Big Red is in Kindergarten I felt it would be a great time to add some STEM learning into our Kindergarten schedule.

I came up with a very simple STEM activity which includes weighing and measuring apples and recording our results on a Apple STEM Measurement printable (which you can get free by joining our email list!) All you need are 2-4 apples, a pencil, a flexible measuring tape, and a small scale. We just happen to own all of these things at our house. We had trouble tracking down our dressmaker’s tape but used one of the paper measuring tapes that the hospital gives out at births!
