Welcome back to week 2 of our Holiday Money series with Becky from Franticmommy! This week Becky has written a post about Using Fiverr to Generate Christmas Cash. I know you will not want to miss reading her tips on what Fiverr is and how to earn much needed Christmas cash. (Week 1 will be listed at the bottom of this post.)

What kinds of Christmas Gifts do parents want? Educational toys WITHOUT batteries! I will repeat that for all the grandparents, aunts, or uncles out there buying Christmas Gifts. Do NOT buy gifts with BATTERIES!! Battery operated toys are no fun when the batteries die and can cost a small fortune to keep running with full batteries!

Educational Christmas Gift Ideas

So what is a relative to do when you want to buy that precious little one a really awesome Christmas present? Check out all the wonderful EDUCATIONAL options that are out there! Pressure Cooker Canner Giveaway

October 19, 2014 By Thaleia 12 Comments

It’s right near the end of Fall Harvest time! What better time to have a chance to win a Pressure Cooker Canner! I’ve had my eye on a Pressure Cooker since I am learning to can. Fortunately I can borrow my mom’s or use my MIL’s until we get into a fight of who needs it most, lol. Next year when I plan to have a much larger garden harvest I will probably need my very own pressure cooker.

Remember how I shared with you how to can homemade applesauce and homemade apple butter? Well, lots of things can use a regular water bath but many items require a pressure canner for safe canning. If you’d like to learn more about Pressure Canning then check out the National Center for Home Food Preservation.

Frugal Herbal: Teaching Your Child Plant ID

October 6, 2014 By Thaleia Leave a Comment

Children love to take interest in what their parents are interested in whether it be video games, painting, writing, or plant identification. My middle son has made my heart come alive with his interest in plant ID. We have lots of herbal bliss in our backyard that just a few years ago were considered WEEDS!

I have been super excited to find all sorts of medicinal plants that we can use for herbal remedies right in our backyard. Boy does this save time and money! I do not have to order online or drive to a local health food store for Plantain, Dandelion, Wild Violet to name a few.

I have to admit I have planted some things out front like Yarrow, Coreopsis, and Phlox. I have been blessed by God with Evening Primrose and even a Mullein plant!

Free Art Lesson Resources

September 30, 2014 By Thaleia 1 Comment

Free Art Lesson Resources

I do not have an art degree and never took art classes beyond the required 8th grade art class. I even got a C in Art in Elementary because my teacher was looking for talent instead of grading on instruction and effort. This really left me with a negative view of art although I have always been very creative. I never learned about Famous Artists, Art Periods, Techniques, or all the fun that art truly can be! What could be better than free art lesson resources?

My children exhausted all the art dvd’s from our local library. It was very nice to set-up the laptop or tablet with a video, lay out all their materials , and let them be free to “have art class”. The only problem was they wouldn’t STOP after one lesson! Oh, no they wanted to finish the entire dvd! Since there is an interest in art I figured I better find more free resources to hone in and sharpen their talents in areas like shading, sketching, perspective, and proper use of materials.

You can learn about ART with a variety of free art lessons from all over the internet! You can learn from home. You can teach your children or you can facilitate a group of children or friend’s while you all take an art adventure together.
