Jungle Gym Fun Outdoor Activities

April 28, 2016 By Thaleia 1 Comment

Warmer weather beacons children to be outside and play. If you are lucky enough to live near a playground then you can enjoy some of these jungle gym fun outdoor activities.

Jungle Gym Fun Outdoor Activities

Climbing and sliding are fun activities that most children enjoy as soon as they can walk. Big Red has always loved slides for as long as I could remember. Lil’ Red on the other hand won’t go down them for nothing. He will climb to the top of a tall slide and then climb right back down again.

Rock Painting for Kids

April 27, 2016 By Thaleia 2 Comments

What do you do when the weather is nice and the kids are bored? Send them outside for rock painting of course! The first step is gathering the rocks and washing the rocks before the fun begins!

Rock Painting for Kids

My kids were so quick at finding their rocks and washing them that I didn’t even get pictures. Oh, well maybe next time. We used an empty ice cream bucket to give the rocks a bath and an old towel to dry them.

Foam Blocks Stacking Activity

April 26, 2016 By Thaleia Leave a Comment

Sometimes the simplest of activities is very enjoyable for toddlers and preschoolers. We have a nice set of foam blocks that Big Red had gotten as a present from his aunt a few years ago. I have been very cautious to keep them in very good condition by making sure they are put back into their zippered pouch.

Foam Block Stacking Activity

Lil’ Red is just at the right age to really be able to enjoy this set of foam blocks. This particular set is really awesome since it comes with letter, numbers, and objects with words. We have used this set of blocks for all sorts of fun learning.

Stacking blocks and knocking them down is by far one of the funnest things a young child can do. It’s a great way to learn cause and effect. Stacking the blocks as high as they will go before tumbling over is Science.

Leaning letters and number can be more fun when playing with hands-on objects like foam blocks.

How to Get Your Kids Excited About Recycling

April 15, 2016 By Thaleia Leave a Comment

Taking out the trash is a daunting task for any age but recycling is another story. We are lucky to live in a town that provides curb-side recycling service along with refuse pickup. We do not need to sort our recycling by type but my kids could if they wanted to. Today I wanted to share a few ways to get your kids excited about recycling.
