Warmer weather beacons children to be outside and play. If you are lucky enough to live near a playground then you can enjoy some of these jungle gym fun outdoor activities.
Climbing and sliding are fun activities that most children enjoy as soon as they can walk. Big Red has always loved slides for as long as I could remember. Lil’ Red on the other hand won’t go down them for nothing. He will climb to the top of a tall slide and then climb right back down again.
Having the opportunity to “drive” a vehicle with a friend is always fun when there’s two steering wheels. I love this kind of playground equipment where lots of children can sit, climb, and play together.
Playing tag, hide ‘n seek, or peek-a-boo are all great fun atop a large piece of jungle gym equipment. This was a great day at the park when Lil’ Red peeked through a lookout hole.
What can be more fun then swinging in a swing that is just your size? This swing set just so happens to be at our homeschool co-op and is especially made for the younger kids. It’s great for the toddlers to 2nd graders to be able to get on and off the swings by themselves.
Do you enjoy playgrounds and jungle gyms? I hope you have the chance to take your children to play a ton of outdoor activities this Spring!

Playforts are such a great way for kids to exercise their imaginations and bodies. We were helping our friends improve some features on their children’s playfort last weekend. It was such a joy seeing the fruits of our labors as the kids started using the new slide for the first time, overcoming their fear and hesitation. I bet it will be before you know if that Lil’ Red will be conquering those slides 🙂
