Rainbow Bears Sensory Bin

January 5, 2016 By Thaleia 15 Comments

Have you heard of Rainbow Bears? I bet you have seen them and have wondered what on earth can you do with them besides count and sort them. Today I am sharing with you a super simple and fun way to learn with Rainbow Bears via our Rainbow Bears Sensory Bin! This is our first post for a new series called #toolsforlearning which we will be sharing on our blogs and Instagram!

Rainbow Bears Sensory Bin

Lil’ Red is my sensory loving boy so this activity is perfect for him. He not only loves all things that involve his hands but also anything new, fun, and colorful. Now I have owned these bears since before Eldest was born but they have been stored away most of those years. I used them a few years ago for some tot trays during the year I did CC nursery. So these “old” bears are totally new to both Big Red and Lil’ Red which makes this activity even more fun!

Top Posts of 2015

January 2, 2016 By Thaleia 6 Comments

I feel like I am still a blogger without a niche even after 3 years of blogging and I think I am okay with that. I claim to be a creative who is slightly ADD so I might as well embrace my personality even through my blogging, right? 2015 is done and gone but it’s always good to reflect back on a few significant posts which appealed to the masses.

top posts of 2015

My top educational post for 2015 was the Moses and the Plagues of Egypt Sensory Bin! This post was part of a series done through My Mundane and Miraculous Life. I was super excited to be apart of this series that it has got me thinking of more Bible themed posts for 2016. So be sure to stay tuned this year as we share more fun Bible themed activities for your little ones.

Winter Sensory Bins

December 26, 2015 By Thaleia Leave a Comment

Since Lil’ Red is a hands-on, tactile, sensory learner I am always looking for new ways for him to explore and learn. We haven’t made many sensory bins but they are always a hit when I do set them up!

Homemade Chicken Corn Chowder

December 22, 2015 By Thaleia 1 Comment

Do you have a list of recipes that are deemed your comfort foods? You know those recipes that not only are nutritious but warm your soul? This chicken corn chowder is one of those recipes. We were first introduced to this recipe when Eldest was in the hospital with DKA and we found out he had Type 1 Diabetes.

Homemade Chicken Corn Chowder

One of our local homeschool moms volunteered to bring us a meal and she brought us Creamy Chicken and Corn Chowder  by Cooking Classy. See she knew we would need to figure out the carbs in the soup if Eldest was going to eat it. I am very thankful for that hearty meal that we were able to enjoy last December as well as have the chance to tweak it and make it our own!
