This week we are featuring BOOKS! Oh, how I love books. I love paperbacks, hardcovers, and ebooks. My hubby and older children love comics and graphic novels. I prefer inspirational romance, blogging how-to’s, or cookbooks. We spend most of our Summer scouring garage sales for new books in perfect condition at a fraction of the price. We can get into trouble big time at those sales where books are .10 or .25 each.

Puberty and Having the “Talk”

August 29, 2013 By Thaleia Leave a Comment

Puberty, ugh! I am a mom who is about to give birth to our fourth child so you would think that it would be easy for me to think about what I would want to share with my children when it comes to puberty, sex and child birth. Not so much. I did not grow up is a very prudish home or a very open home. I grew up on what I call a “non-working” farm with animals but no farming. Yes, I knew how the chickens did it and the cats, but that really did not translate into what sex was for my tween and teen brain.

Free Horse Unit Study Resources

Free Horse Unit Study Resources

Just saw a post of a forum that a family was looking for resources to go along with FIAR books, The Wild Horses of Sweetbriar and The Finest Horse in Town. Both of these have to do with horses so I wanted to help out by doing a quick google search. Since I found so many wonderful and free resources I created this free horse unit study resource post to share!

Free Horse Unit Study

My daughter was very interested in horses a couple of years ago. So we did start a lapbook that we found free online as well as a 107 page Horse Unit Study from Oakes Homeschool Consulting co-op.

Unfortunately it’s no longer online so I wanted to find you a few other resources. I did a quick Google search and found Horse Publications and Resources from Ohio 4-H that are free to download.
