B is for Boston Tea Party: Resources for Elementary

January 13, 2015 By Esther Leave a Comment

The Boston Tea Party is one of the most memorable episodes in American history. The event involved the Sons of Liberty (180+), in Native-American costumes, who boarded three ships owned by the East India Company. They destroyed 342 chests of tea in their patriotic protest, which was inspired by what they considered illegal (and unconstitutional) taxes.
Boston Tea Party

The Intolerable Acts was the American Patriots’ name for a series of punitive laws passed by the British Parliament in 1774 after the Boston Tea party. They were meant to punish the Massachusetts colonists for their defiance in throwing a large tea shipment into Boston harbor. (wikipedia)

Homeschooled Through High School:

Kerry Jones from

Let’s Homeschool High School

Those of us who homeschool or who have been homeschooled through high school know that IT IS VERY Possible.  But how? Many parents and students look towards high school with fear and trepidation instead of being joyous as to how far into the journey they have come. I realize that families homeschool for a multitude of reasons and that each family is unique, but questions still arise when the words high school are mentioned!

Kerry Jones from Let's Homeschool High School

This week I would like to welcome Kerry Jones from Let’s Homeschool High School.

Let's Homeschool Highschool Kerry JonesI’ve been homeschooling for almost 14 years. And no, not in dog years. Which means I’ve been around the home education block a time or two. But the biggest challenge for me today is STILL the same challenge I faced in the beginning – – finding a community of other families to network with and share information with.  Granted, homeschooling has exploded in popularity in the last decade, but sometimes I still have difficulty connecting with families in similar situations or stages to our own.

Great Resources for Homeschool:

free homeschool resources

Sometimes I find some really great resources online for homeschool. I save them to my pc if they are pdf’s, but when I go to share them later it is not always easy to find the origimal source for them. So this is a list of really great places to find research info., reports, book reports, and graphic organizers. Some of these I have printed and plan on sharing with our LHP/PP/Pioneer Co-op this fall. Others are just for our families reference (in case we need them.) Still thought it might be of help to other homeschool families and worth the time to track down links and share!
