Thoughtful Spot Weekly Blog Hop #8

Thoughtful Spot Weekly Blog Hop

Loyal readers and friends! I have been given the opportunity to bring  you a wonderful weekly blog hop that I feel would be of great benefit to us all. Hope you join us in the fun each week and visit as many posts as you can during the week!

We’ve been busy trying to enjoy the cooler weather as best as we can with an infant! We were at the Roller Derby this weekend to see a friend of our’s compete in her first bout. It was going good until the kids became hungry and Baby C-4 pooped through his clothes and ran out of diapers! Yikes. I normally have 8-12 diapers in the diaper bag but we had been gone a few times this week for 3-4 hrs. each time equaling multiple diaper changes. I had grabbed a handful of diapers and thought I had put them in the diaper bag BUT they were not there at the Roller Derby! Normally I have extras in the car but Baby C-4 is about to grow up a diaper size and do not want to waste diapers. Lesson learned be sure that the diaper bag gets refilled EACH DAY even if you get home late and are exhausted! That is my crazy little story for the week. Just a little Thoughtful Spot about life with 4 kids:)

A Thoughtful Spot is a place to gather every week to share your family friendly posts, crafts, educational ideas, recipes, and more! Inspired by the philosophy of the Winnie the Pooh character in the classic A.A. Milne storybooks for children. Brought to you each week by Enchanted Homeschooling Mom, ABC Creative Learning and Something 2 Offer.

Creative Ways to Organize Crafts

Creative Ways to Organize Crafts

creative craft organize Collage

Reduce. Reuse. Recycle. What better way to reuse frappuccino bottles, spaghetti bottles, spice shakers, and large snack containers than to house craft supplies? If your family is at all crafty, then you probably run into the dilemma of how to store your craft supplies.

One problem is that most craft supplies come in non-resealable bags. Once you tear or cut open those bags then you now have craft supplies on the loose. I love creative ways to organize crafts that DO NOT COST MONEY! That’s where clean empty bottle come into play. Save your empty bottles that have good fitting lids. I would save more plastic than glass if you want your children to access the craft materials without your assistance.

frappe bottle holder

My hubby was on a frappe kick for awhile and it was cheaper to buy the four pack then buy them individually. Of course I save one holder and the bottle to reuse them. I did throw out quite a few holders BEFORE I had the brilliant idea of re-purposing them!

frappe bottles and beads and pom-poms

We love our pom-poms and beads. We have beads in all sorts of kinds of materials like wood, plastic, and glass as well as all sorts of sizes!

foam stickers and spice shakers

What home with school-agers and preschool would be complete without FOAM stickers! We got all sorts of those, too! Since my Lil’ Red likes to use them I made sure the containers were plastic. Just so happens I save my spice containers and parmesan containers just for these sorts of things!

sensory bin materials

We cannot forget to mention all those wonderful seasonal sensory bin items! What do you do with them out-of-season? How about storing them in a jumbo UTZ pretzel or cheese puff container. This one was given to us by my parents!

Go dig into your recycle bin and save a container for your crafts or hobby items. Yes, get up and go right now! Wash it out. Allow to air dry and think of what craft material you will put inside!

Stop by and enter to win a Keurig:

Do you have craft materials that need organizing? What ways do you plan to reuse something you already have for organization?

Creative Coffee Crafts

Creative Coffee Crafts

creative coffee crafts for kids

What better way to involve your children in your coffee addiction-I mean habit- then to allow them to have fun making a creative coffee craft. There are so many fun things you can do with coffee filters and coffee grounds that I thought a quick round-up would help. I asked some very helpful friends from Kid Blogger Network and got a ton of great ideas.
If you recently switched to a Keurig and now have extra coffee filters, then you have come to the right place for creative inspiration. If you are like me there’s no way you’d throw the old coffee filters out. What about all the things you can do with coffee grounds? Have you thought about using your coffee grounds for a craft or project around the house?

Maybe you are not the creative type, but would love some “green” craft ideas to do with children. You have come to the right place for creative coffee crafts featuring coffee grounds, coffee beans, coffee filters and even coffee cans!

Introducing Comforts for Baby Products

Introducing Comforts for Baby Products

comforts for baby products

I’m a big time bargain shopper and deal hunter so I was very intrigued when I got the email about Comforts for Baby promotions. I was lucky enough to get in on a Bzz Agent Campaign to review and share my thoughts and experiences with Kroger’s Comforts for Baby Products! Super excited since I have a 6 week old and a 3 year old who can benefit from these items.

I have used Comforts Wipes and possibly their diapers before but have never tried their lotion, baby wash, training pants, or bibs. I loved receiving my envelope in the mail so I could choose the products which suited my family best. I also got coupons from BzzAgent to share with friends and family (if I haven’t offered any to you just remind me ’cause I may have forgotten to whip them out to share!)

SANYO DIGITAL CAMERA

So far we have used the bibs for Baby C-4 and training pants for Lil’ Red. I love the size of the bibs. They are perfect as drooler bibs and the training pants are great for on-the-go while potty training. I will keep training pants around even after Lil’ Red is potty trained in case of the flu just to cut down on unavoidable accidents.

Yes, I was given coupons to try and review these items in exchange for my honest opinion. I was not compensated for my review from either BzzAgent or The Kroger Co. Family of Stores. So feel free to check out some Comforts for Baby products for your little one!
