Alkaline Natural Spring House Vandalia, Ohio #30Places30Days

May 14, 2017 By Thaleia 1 Comment

A few months ago I learned about Artesian Wells and Natural Spring via a travel blogger group on Facebook. Since my interest was peaked I figured I would search to see if one was within a day trip of our house. Low and behold there was a natural spring within a short drive of my house right in Vandalia. I knew the street name Alkaline Spring but never thought about why the street was named.Alkaline Natural Spring Vandalia, Ohio

Princess and I were just up the road getting our van repaired when I realized how close we were to Alkaline Springs and zipped down the road for a visit. We knew that we might not be able to see anything as the museum complex wasn’t technically open. We were in luck!  A handful of volunteers were on site working on landscaping and gardening.

Covered Bridges of Miami County, Ohio #30Places30Days

May 13, 2017 By Thaleia Leave a Comment

We pass the Eldean Bridge each week from September through May when we head down County Road 25-A to Troy. My husband’s Aunt Net loved Covered Bridges so much that her kitchen walls were filled with drawings, prints, and calendars of covered bridges. She even owned a few small replica covered bridges which I assume that she had collected from various trips over the years.

The main hub for sports activities in Piqua is the Pitsenbarger Sports Complex. This multi-function space is located off South St. and McKinley Ave. We usually visit the park once a year for Vacation Bible School picnic but also enjoy some of the other amenities found here.

Edison Community College #30Places30Days

May 11, 2017 By Thaleia Leave a Comment

Edison Community College was founded in 1973 in a much smaller facility then what it offers today. We have personal ties with Edison Community College as it is Alma Mater to my mother, husband, and myself. I first got my AAS in 1998 and then returned to work on classes towards my Bachelors degree. Riley and I even took a Chemistry class together when Big Red was a toddler!Edison Community College sign

How to Make Time for Family Time #WonderWoman #ad

May 10, 2017 By Thaleia Leave a Comment

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Dr Pepper®. The opinions and text are all mine.

What do all busy families have in common? Lack of family time! Crazy hectic schedules either from multiple children in sports or therapy appointments to parents work schedules usually don’t allow a lot of family time. Making family time a priority can be very hard in certain seasons of life but it still is very important to enjoy family time.

Outdoor Family Time

Taking the children outside to throw a ball or jump rope or ride bikes are great ways to enjoy some family time at home. You can plant a garden or go on a bug hunt to get fresh air and engage in an activity together. Learning, growing and laughing together are all important aspects of family time!

Indoor Family Time

Cooking and eating a meal together is one of our favorite ways to spend time together indoors. Whether it’s cooking a new recipe, or whipping up an old favorite! Board games as well as playing hide and seek indoors are some other great ways to spend time with children of all ages!

Family Time Away From Home

Whether going to the grocery store or park; spending time together as a family can be done just about anywhere. Our family enjoys going to the movie theater even though we don’t get to very often. Even Lil’ Red has been able to sit through a feature film as long as 90 minutes!

Did you know that Wonder Woman the movie is coming to theaters soon? Everyone in our family has an affinity for super heroes! What’s even better is the opportunity to save $5 on your movie ticket with the purchase of 2 participating Dr Pepper 24-packs (or 12-pack, 8-pack 12 oz. or 7.5 oz cans) found at Walmart!
