Grow Your Child’s Faith with Faith Builders Bible from Zonderkidz

February 29, 2016 By Thaleia Leave a Comment

We’ve been enjoying the Faith Builders Bible from Zonderkidz as part of our Bible curriculum which we were given for review as part of the TOS Review Crew. All four of our children LOVE playing and building with LEGO so this Bible is a great way to reinforce God’s Word via building some Bible stories or scenes. Using LEGOs and their imaginations to bring the Bible to life really reinforces the lessons in their minds.

Grow Your Child's Faith with Faith Builders Bible

My husband decided to read a part of Genesis which talks in detail about the Garden of Eden. He read about the river that runs through Eden and meets up with the surrounding rivers. After he read the passage, the kids raced into their rooms to collect the needed pieces to complete their very own Garden of Eden.

Eldest, Princess, and Big Red came back with a tray of LEGO pieces that were green, blue, and brown. They found pieces that could make plants and trees as well as some pieces that were golden. They quickly got to work to build as many features of the Garden of Eden that they could with the LEGO pieces that we own.

The passage we read was Genesis 2:4-14 which details some of the topography of the Garden of Eden, specifically, the river that flowed through it and branched out into other lands. The kids spent quite a while building their own Garden of Eden scenes, even working together (gasp) to extend the rivers out to some of the other lands we read about in the passage.

Here are a few of the inside builder idea pages found within the Faith Builders Bible. There are not instructions of how to put scenes together but some very detailed ideas which helps children recreate stories from the Bible. After trying to build a few of the ideas from the book it is very easy for a younger builder to branch out and build more difficult story scenes.

Fresh Fruit Delivered by Grub Market

February 5, 2016 By Thaleia 19 Comments

Have you ever wanted a fresh piece of fruit but you can’t find anything local? Have you wanted some fresh fruit that might be out-of-season in your neck of the woods? How about some organic fruit or veggies? Then you should check out Grub Market!

Grub Market

We were recently sent the regular-size California Fruit Bounty box to try. Our box included a pineapple, a grapefruit, a blood orange, an avocado, two pears, two apples, two oranges, a pomegranate, and a package of Medjool dates! I was super excited by the variety of produce that our box included. I tried to get each of my children to try something new even though we have had all of these fruits before at one time or another.

Grub Market

Lil’ Red was excited to try the grapefruit! I really enjoyed the sweet flavor of the grapefruit but Lil’ Red wasn’t quit sure. He gave it a try a few times but passed it back to me to finish!

Greens Plus Offers Yummy Gluten Free Energy Bars

January 30, 2016 By Thaleia 1 Comment

I am always on the lookout for new yummy snacks and energy bars. As much as I would love to make my own I do not always have the time or the best recipe! I recently received a box of super yummy gluten free energy bars to review. These green superfood bars came from Greens Plus and they tasted better then I expected!

 Yummy Gluten Free Energy Bars

I received four different flavors which included: Blueberry Almond Chia Crisp, Plusbar Energy Chocolate , Whey Krisp Protein and Greens + High Protein Peanut Butter.  (Affiliate links) They all had very distinct flavors which made for a nice variety of healthy snacks.

My personal favorite was the Greens Plus High Protein Peanut Butter bar followed by the Energy Chocolate bar. I am not very fond of the Whey Krisp.

My kids weren’t too fond of the green color of the bars but that’s just because we don’t often buy the more expensive higher quality energy bars. My youngest son was super excited to try the Whey Krisp Protein bar. His favorite flavor so far is the Energy Chocolate bar.

Captive Dvd

January 21, 2016 By Thaleia 7 Comments

As a mom of four I do not make it out to the theater to watch many movies. When I do hear about a really good movie it’s usually too late for the main venues. Occasionally I can catch it at the dollar theater.  I am just as happy to stay home and watch a REALLY good movie from the comfort of my livingroom!

Since we do have younger children we had to wait till they were visiting grandma in order to preview this movie. This movie is rated PG-13 and we take ratings very seriously at our house. Eldest will be 13 soon and Princess turns 12 this year but we feel that as parents we should preview movies and video games for their content first!
