Tot School- Dr. Seuss Style Tot Trays

I may finally be ahead of the game so to speak! I keep saying that I will participate in “Virtual Book Club for Kids” and then forget to see which author is picked for the month! Low and behold I came across the announcement that Dr. Seuss was the next author. The perfect choice since I had planned to share some Tot Trays with Dr. Seuss Style anyways!

Dr. Seuss- Something 2 Offer

Last year for Big Red’s 2nd birthday we had a Dr. Seuss theme. I created some activities for Tot School then, but was not blogging and have not shared them, yet! Plus we have lots of new things to share. This first post will showcase TEN Dr. Seuss Themed Tot Trays!

10 Valentine’s Tot Trays

10 Valentine’s Tot Trays

Why is it when holiday’s seem close together that it is hard to transition from one to the other? In January I thought about Valentine’s activities, but have not gotten them all out till last week or printed until today! I did spend an entire afternoon searching our back porch for my Valentine’s stuff, with the help of my sister, to find them sitting on a high shelf!

Lil’ Red has been enjoying these trays. Some he will do over and over. Other’s he will appease me with a one time completion. Today Princess was home and helping engage him. When he got done with a few he shouted, ” Yah, I won the game. I did it!” Made me smile and so glad that he did his schoolwork without complaining or difficulty! Time to up his trays I think to more difficult/preschool learning.

Yes, Spiderman did make an appearance last week during Tot School!

Introducing Kidgets Diapers and Wipes from Family Dollar

Introducing Kidgets Diapers and Wipes

from Family Dollar

kidgets diapers and wipes Family Dollar

I have to be honest. I used to be a VERY brand loyal customer back when hubby had a full-time job that paid an amazing wage. Well, things have changed since the birth of our 3rd child. My husband is now a full-time student and our income is much tighter than it was before. The price of diapers keeps going up and the number of diapers per pack has shrunk for most brands.

Our third child is smaller than our other two and has very skinny legs. He fits brands totally different than our other two kids. Totally weird, right? We’ve also had the opportunity to use cloth diapers which have saved us tons of money, BUT some days you do not want to have to deal with cloth diapers. Some days you are too busy on the go to bring all the extra bulk of cloth diapers.  We also tend to use disposable diapers at night since we have had leaks in the past and no one likes to have to change a soiled bed in the middle of the night. So if you are an active family like us and turn to disposable diapers on occasion, then why not try Kidgets brand from Family Dollar?

Family Dollar Kidget Diapers

We were given the opportunity to try Kidget diapers and wipes, which are found only at Family Dollar. A very exciting opportunity since I had never tried Kidget diapers before. Oh, how I love the smell of the wipes. This is super important as I am currently pregnant and the slightest smell makes me feel ill. The scent of the wipes covers the stinky pee and poo smell which this mom likes very much! The thickness of the wipes is very good and not too flimsy or overly thick and wasteful.

The diapers seem to fit well, but may be slightly bigger than brand name diapers. This would be a plus since buying a smaller sized diaper means more diapers to a pack thus saving more money. My son did not leak out of them or break-out which is also very important (he’s a fair skinned red head).  The tabs seem to hold up very well and I had no problems with them ripping or tearing.  (I have had this with some name brand diapers and  wasted a ton of money). They were a little difficult for my son to get off which is definitely a good thing if your child tries to strip without you knowing about it.

Available exclusively at Family Dollar, Kidgets baby wipes are made with a special three-layer fabric that is Thick, Strong, and Soft!! Available in Unscented and Fresh Scent, they are the perfect addition to your changing table, car, or diaper bag. Convenient press-open lids make on-the-go changes a breeze!

Family Dollar’s line of Kidgets diapers is also second to none. Family Dollar realizes that you want the best for your baby. That’s why they developed Kidgets – a soft, absorbent diaper that’s also a great value. With an ultra absorbent core, strechable grip tabs, and a cloth-like outer core, they are are so sure that you’ll love the Kidgets diaper that they offer a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee!

No Time to Blog: Sledding 2012

No Time to Blog: Sledding 2012

Well, we were busy sledding today so no long blog post. No super wonderful recipe or craft idea. No well wishes for 2013. No goals reveal. No new giveaway. YES, those all will be coming soon I promise. Some really great things are in the works, but for today just enjoy this collage of us sledding.

sledding

Lil’ Red rode the sled all by himself. I should have had someone ride down ahead of him to get a picture of his face. He enjoyed it even though he tipped over at the end. Eldest ran down the hill after him to be sure he was safe!

Lots of single sledding and double sledding. We dug out our old-fashioned wooden sled and realized we really need a 3rd sled so we can enjoy more sledding and less waiting! Maybe we will borrow another wooden sled from my parents when we go over there to visit our cousins from Texas!

Domino Birthday Keepsake Ornament Tutorial

What Could be Cuter than a Domino Birthday Keepsake Ornament?

Domino Birthday Keepsake Box

I decided quite a few year ago that it would really great to create some ornaments that my children would be gifted when then got married or bought their first house. I had seen dominoes altered for jewelry and ornaments on various websites way before pinterest!

I am having my children make ornaments each year but making sure they make doubles or triples. When they grow up and we gift them the Domino Birthday Keepsake Ornament Box they will also receive a set of all the kid ornaments they crafted! This will leave us a set to continue to decorate our tree with until we have grandchildren! I remember getting married and having to go out and buy meaningless ornaments to put on our bare artificial tree, lol. (Now we have loads of ornaments store bought and handmade.)
