Andrew Jackson’s Hermitage (March, Sept., Nov, Dec.)-supports the work of homeschooling families by offering Homeschool Days. The Hermitage does offer Hands on History Programs for homeschool groups of 15 or more students. Admission to Homeschool Days is $48 per family, per date. This price includes four family members (1 adult + 3 children), including those under the age of five. Additional admissions may be added for the discounted rate of $18/adult and $11/student. Conner Prairie (April 9, August 24 or September 15 ) Each year, we host Home School Days, during which home school families can come to Conner Prairie and enjoy the day at the school tour rate. On this day, home school families do not have to have a group of 15 or more to get the school tour rate. 1859 Balloon Voyage rides are not included and must be purchased separately. $6.50 per student, $8.50 per chaperone, free for primary educator. updated 3/2021

COSI– (various) Homeschool Workshops are a valued asset to the pantheon of hands-on, in-depth science programming we offer here at COSI. We are currently reevaluating our Homeschool Workshops to make them the best possible experience for teachers, parents, and leaders within the community. Kings Island (Spring dates) Students have the opportunity to gain a greater understanding of the basics of science, technology, engineering and mathematics in a fun and interactive setting. Interactive educational stations will be set up throughout the park and operated by COSI (Center of Science and Industry) personnel during each Education Day programming date. Mount Vernon (not currently offering classes 3/2021Join us at 9:30AM in the Eagles Theater, located in the Ford Orientation Center as we welcome you to our special Homeschool Day. Tour the Mansion, meet people from Washington’s world, and participate in a special ceremony at Washington’s Tomb. On the Pioneer Farm, watch costumed interpreters produce 18th-century goods, learn about George Washington’s innovative farming practices, visit a reconstructed slave cabin, play colonial games, and meet some of Mount Vernon’s animals.
National Aquarium (not currently offering classes 3/2021) –Homeschool families will start their day with an Auditorium program focusing on the newest exhibit at the Aquarium and its inhabitants, Living Seashore. After the program, families will get the chance to go on a self-guided tour of the aquarium, with a learning passport in hand. Families will get the opportunity to visit hands-on learning stations throughout the building focusing on everything from seashore creatures, beach treasures and marine debris.
National Museum of the US Airforce (Fall & Spring) Science, technology and engineering principles will be demonstrated at various stations in the center of the museum’s second building. Stop by any of the stations from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. for a quick and informative demo/activity. Three short, 15 minute briefings providing background information and fun facts on the Museum’s one-of-a-kind collection of Presidential aircraft will be offered in the STEM Learning Node located in the Presidential Gallery at 9:30 AM, 11:30 AM and 11:45 AM. No pre-registration required. Seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Newport Aquarium (dates TBD) You can enhance your child’s knowledge of marine life and conservation while having a wonderful time in the process. Visit the Newport Aquarium for Homeschool Days when admission is only $13 per person and no minimum is required.
Silver Dollar City (dates TBD) Provide exciting educational opportunities for your children during this 2-day event. Our Lesson Plans will help you create unique interactive experiences in a variety of topics. School has never been this much fun! Take your family on the self-guided Homestead Tour for a firsthand look at early American history featuring 2 authentic log cabins, the Oak Trail one-room schoolhouse and a barnyard filled with live animals. Hear tales of the pioneer life, folk tunes from long ago and get a hands-on lesson with our schoolmarm.
Six Flags Chicago, IL (dates TBD) Join us as we combine fun and learning in this outdoor learning lab. Home school students, get ready for a fantastic field trip. Spend the day of fun in the sun challenging 14 world-class roller coasters! Learn what makes them go up and how they must inevitably come down. Laugh and play with more thank 50 rides and attractions to choose from.
Space Center Houston (monthly dates) This incredible event provides the opportunity for home-schooled families to learn about space exploration and engage in an unforgettable day of education and inspiring entertainment.
Tennessee Aquarium (TBD) Bring your family to the Aquarium for field trip prices on this special day. We will offer behind-the-scenes tours for $6/person this day for children ages 6 and up. We will have activities in the lobby and River Journey Auditorium from 10 am to 2 pm. Special admission rate and 10% off in the gift shops all day. Groups up to 20 can book until June.
