One last hurrah for Fall while Thanksgiving and Christmas are almost upon us. I always think way ahead that it’s too early to get out such and such then the next thing I know that month/season/holiday is upon us. Where does the time go?

These Fall Tot Tray ideas will help keep your little learner busy while exploring some fun seasonal trays. Feel free to make substitutions for materials you already own or head to the local craft or dollar store for some inexpensive supplies.

What Fun We Can Get Into…Pumpkin Patch Style

November 5, 2012 By Thaleia 2 Comments

At The Pumpkin Patch

This week Lil’ Red’s “class” (parent/child playgroup) went to a local Pumpkin Patch for hayride, corn maze, and weiner roast. It was a free event paid for by the group and ALL OF MY CHILDREN could attend and pick out a pumpkin. Now that’s what I call a super duper event for this frugal family!

Busy Bags in Action

Wanna See Busy Bags in Action?

busy bags

Well, here is your chance. I’ve talked about busy bags before. I’ve talked about the busy bags I want to make. You see posts all over the blogosphere about busy bags swaps and making busy bags, but rarely do you see kids playing or using busy bags! I took two of my newest super loaded busy bags with me to my Preschool CC Childcare class. Boy were those kids excited to play with some new things. (We set out table type toys each week to help them transition into playing with us and forget that mommy left them.)I took the Little Scientist and Mini Office busy bags that I had blogged about at All Our Days.

November Here I Come!

October 31, 2012 By Thaleia 4 Comments

November 2012: We are gonna make it!

Goodbye birthday month! Hello month of gratitude!

I will include some links to things we did to cut down on all the typing. My fingers are freezing from being online for the last 3 hours! It is all good ’cause I am prepping my new blog series {Spice Up Your Homeschool}. Trying to schedule the next month or more with one post a week. That will free me up for guest posting, conference sponsorship, and review work not to mention Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Luckily my Personal Taxation class does NOT have any final and I do all the work at home. I am trying to make sure I do not get too many bloggy irons in the fire. We are a homeschool family that is very eclectic and flexible. Kids help take pics, pose items for pics, read over blog posts, and generate ideas. We have a class Saturday about video basics from our  local metroparks. So very exciting and it’s free!

I a working on social media and somedays it just kicks my butt. The time sync just kills me, but I am trying to use Buffer to my advantage. November I need to implement Social Bro to tweet my old posts once I come up with create tweets! Growing in leaps and bounds but sometimes hard to do and not have laundry piling up, lol.

Kids are starting to take more responsibility (vacuum room, put clothes away, fold towels, start load of laundry, etc) for things that they can do to help the house run more smoothly. I want them to realize this is not a fly by night kinda thing. This “blogging” is our new way of life and with hubby starting up a website soon we really have got to get things together.

Goals: Focus on Thanksgiving and Christmas Prep

Get house ready to put up Christmas tree

Pull-out outgrown clothes, bag and donate!

Find ways to show Jesus to others.

Continue to tweak our schedule to fit it all in:)
