5 Reasons To Dress Up Like a Superhero

October 22, 2014 By Thaleia 6 Comments

My kids love to dress up anytime of year for any reason. We have had many days where an Army man or Superhero has graced us with their presence. When our daughter was younger we had many tea parties with princesses. We also do lots of themed birthday parties like Spiderman, Superman, Princess, Candyland, Farm, Jungle Animals and Pirates where we ask everyone to dress up if they want to!

But what about all you kids at heart? Dressing up can be fun for adults as well. Do you think it’s a little strange. Yes, maybe for some “playing dress up” might be a little weird but not if you have children. Here are 5 reason’s to dress up like a Superhero even as an adult.

Impromptu Fall Nature Hike

October 7, 2014 By Thaleia 9 Comments

The weather turned cold like 20 degrees cooler then the day before and the wind blew in. It’s now truly feeling like Fall. I have also noticed the leaves starting to change colors and drop. What a perfect time for a Fall Nature Hike.

I wanted to get out of the house since the sun was shining and hubby was home. Originally I wanted to go to a festival but by the time we would have gotten there less than 2 hours remained. We loaded up in the van and headed out anyways but I changed our destination to a local park with creek, nature trail, and two small playgrounds.

Surviving Your Child’s Surgery

October 2, 2014 By Thaleia 6 Comments

This post has been long in coming. We found out almost a year ago that our sweet boy would be best to have surgery to fix all of his teeth problems. First, it was hard to swallow that he had so many cavities but when you stop to think how much of a night nurser he was then it seems a little better. Second, I felt bad for panicking due to the fact that WE HAD A CHOICE to have his procedures done under anesthesia at a hospital.

Teething Tips and Ideas

September 5, 2014 By Thaleia 3 Comments

Since Lil’ Red is teething so much we provide him with all sorts of ways to soothe his gums. We have cold and frozen teethers with a variety of textures, shapes, and surfaces. We also have Hyland’s Teething Tabs which are homeopathic and have seemed to work pretty well. Sometimes the big kids have had aching teeth when one falls out and a new one is coming in. They will ask for a Hyland’s Teething tab.

How to Brush Baby Teeth

September 3, 2014 By Thaleia 2 Comments

We are super lucky that Lil’ Red is interested and willing to brush his baby teeth. If the bathroom door gets left open, then we usually find him standing on his stool with toothbrush in hand. I found an extra soft toothbrush designed for 3 months to 36 months of age. I found ours at Big Lots or Walmart but Amazon carries them as well. ( I linked to one similar but not exactly using our affiliate link as a reference.)
