Montage Makes Great Photo Books

March 28, 2015 By Thaleia Leave a Comment

Disclosure: This post contains affiliate links and I will receive compensation if you make a purchase using my links.

Are you like me in that you take hundreds of pictures per event but never get them printed? I absolutely love the cost savings of digital pictures but hate not having tangible photos to share with my children or friends and family that stop by for a visit. Believe it or not some relatives are NOT online or DO NOT own a PC! Yep, even in 2015 printed pictures, photo books and photo gifts are still a very coveted gift to give or receive!

Photo Books Make Great Gifts

What better way to celebrate the important women in your life this Mother’s Day than with a beautiful photo book full of memories! We’re all guilty of taking hundreds of pictures throughout the year but never printing them out to remind us of the magic moments spent with our loved ones.

Top 10 Subscription Boxes for Kid’s

March 13, 2015 By Thaleia Leave a Comment

Where have I been the past three or four years? I did not even realize that subscription boxes had become all the rage until I created a spreadsheet of over 125! This list wasn’t just for kids but includes adults and pets as well as crafters and foodies. Today I want to share the top 10 choices I have found for my age of children.

top 10 kids subscription boxes

These subscription boxes for kid’s are great for children in the birth to age 12 category. We have tried each and everyone from our list and love them all. My kids wish we could have a subscription to each one all the time but our budget won’t allow for that. I think these subscription boxes would make a lovely Easter present, End of School gift, or Graduating to a new grade type gift. Of course you don’t want to forget Christmas or birthday’s either.

Travel Hacks: Help You Prepare For Your Next Vacation

March 11, 2015 By Thaleia 3 Comments

Traveling to grandma’s or trying to keep the family staycation exciting? Incorporate some of these travel hacks into your planning. Purchase a new backpack for the little ones and help them “pack” for the week.. then each day they can grab their backpack and everything they need to get dressed is there and waiting on them.. Bring the “traveling” home with these travel hacks.

Travel hacks prepare for vacation

I’m teaming up with Downy Wrinkle Releaser Plus to share five travel hacks that you’ll love, along with a great giveaway offer. One lucky winner will take home a Travel Pack from Downy Wrinkle Releaser Plus valued at $150 (including a $50 Target gift card!)

Five Travel Hacks You’ll Love

Five travel hacks you'll love (especially #2) - and a giveaway!

1. Roll; Don’t Fold
As you pack, roll your clothes instead of folding them. You’ll be able to fit up to two times the amount of clothing by rolling them as you would by folding them.

2. Pack your “Iron”
And by iron, we mean Downy Wrinkle Releaser Plus. The 3 oz travel size meets airline standards. Slip it into your carry-on bag, and with a simple spray, you’ll be wrinkle free all trip long. (It’s also a great fabric refresher if you have to wear your clothes more than once on vacation.) Click here to read more and grab a coupon.

3. Bring an Empty Water Bottle
After you get through security, several airports have filtered water stands to fill your bottle. You’ll also find that most airport cafes will gladly fill your water bottle as well.

4. Snap a Picture
If you’re checking your luggage, snap a picture of your suitcase contents before you leave the house. If the airline loses your luggage, you’ll be able to use the picture to prove the value of the contents.

5. BYO Blanket
Blankets on airlines are hard to come by these days – and they’re not always washed between flights. If you tend to get cold on planes, or you’re going to be flying overnight, pack your own blanket to stay comfortable.

Frugal Date Night: Merengue Dance Lessons

December 17, 2014 By Thaleia Leave a Comment

With the Holidays approaching and the year coming to an end why not be more intentional about having a Date Night? I have been married for 15 years and we did not get started in a Date Night habit which we are starting to regret more and more each year. Originally we did not see the point in a set Date Night. We were home each day and night with each other and didn’t have the same distractions we have now. Romance is not my strong suit at all I will admit, but I do like to try new things from time to time. I also know as my children get older that soon we will be empty nesters and only have each other’s company once again.

frugal date night merengue

So in honor of our marriage and the need for Date Nights we will be starting to try some frugal ideas that can be done at home even with children under foot. Our first installment of Frugal Date Night will be trying to learn to Merengue. We were given a copy of Merengue Dance Lessons – Learn To Dance Merengue, Beginning & Intermediate Latin Dancing: A Step-By-Step Guide To Merengue Dancing.

The instructors are very easy to understand and go slowly breaking each movement intosimple steps. I enjoyed watching the video and seeing how the professionals dance the merengue.

I really liked there passion for dancing and both instructors encouraging manner. I am not sure how well I will learn the merengue but I do see myself at least trying with this dvd again. My husband found the instructions straightforward and easy to understand as well. He chuckled when I told him about the review knowing how much effort dancing is for me. I was not born with a talent for dancing.

Taking time to learn a new skill is a great frugal date night activity, you can borrow a dvd from friends or the library. You can search on YouTube or purchase a dvd on Amazon via our affiliate link above.

Do you plan date nights with your spouse? Who does most of the planning? If you have children how do you arrange for care? Do you have children with Special Needs? How does that factor in for Date Nights?
Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial. I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
