If you are looking for some great parenting posts then you have come to the right place. I am partnering up with other mommy bloggers to bring you our best parenting posts for 2014. While I do not view myself as a parenting blogger, I am a mother of four and probably could write way more about my experiences of parenting then I do. Over the course of my first couple years of blogging I have shared a few things that I had on my heart and will share those posts below in case you missed them.
I have written about controversial topics such as vaccines, circumcision, breastfeeding and homeschooling. I have also written about preparing for labor and delivery as well as post-partum prep. I should also write about each of our birth stories including two water births, co-sleeping, child led weaning, long-term nursing, and attachment parenting but I promise I will get there! You can read my first post all about my thoughts on vaccines and circumcision in my post entitled Digging Deeper: Controversial Topics.
If you are new around here then you may have missed our celebration of breastfeeding back in August which was National Breastfeeding month. I had some very good guest posts from three breastfeeding mamas who have had three very different experiences. First up, Amy is a mom of 7 who recently obtained her birth doula certification. She talked all about how Breastfeeding is Natural. My second guest post was written a sweet country mama of one little guy. She tells all about her experiences and pressures and questions from family and friends about Breastfeeding 17 months and Counting. My third guest post was written by another homeschooling mother of 4. She tells all about how she became a Breastfeeding Nazi! My contribution during Breastfeeding month was to share my Car Snack Bag for Breastfeeding moms. If you are breastfeeding or thinking about breastfeeding or know someone who is be sure to read through these posts!
I get a tiny bit vulnerable when I share a post about how tough it can be to always be needed and never be alone in a house of 4 children. My quirky post entitled Parenting Woes: Mama Awake Baby Awake shares some thoughts about my struggles while having the demands of an active infant. I also have shared some tips for teething and how to brush baby teeth.
As I dig a little deeper I found a few posts not form 2014 but earlier on and wish to share those with you as a resource as well. I have to chuckle at the title of a post called Attachment Parenting Can be Tough and Self-Directed Potty Training. This post was talking about Big Red’s potty training journey at that time. I cannot believe that I will soon be sharing Lil’ Red’s potty training tips, ideas and success with you.
Before I leave off I will end my post with the latest adventure in our Parenting Journey- Our story of Eldest being diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. You can catch all FOUR parts of the story here: ER/DKA/Diabetes 1, ER/DKA/Diabetes 2, ER/DKA/Diabetes 3 and ER/DKA/Diabetes FINALE. You can rest assured that we will be posting more about the Signs of Diabetes, Early Detection of Type 1 Diabetes, the difference between Type 1 and Type 2 as well as loads of free resources and healthy lifestyle type of posts. I did share a Diabetics Holiday Wishlist and Free Diabetes Resources posts so far.
