Toogli Organic Silicone Teething Pendant

March 12, 2015 By Thaleia Leave a Comment

Anyone else dealing with a fussy baby or teething toddler? My Toogli teething necklace came in the mail as we were leaving for an eye doctor appointment. I brought it along and opened it up. As soon as Lil’ Red saw that dangling #teethingbling he grabbed for the Toogli right away and stuck it in his mouth! So it is attractive for a mobile toddler who is still teething.

Toogli #teethingbling necklace

Yes, I know you should probably wash it first and all that but this poor little guy was suffering from those side teeth. He really likes the Toogli and also likes to yank it off mom’s neck which isn’t too big a deal because of the “break away” latch.

Fashionable 100% Organic Food Grade Silicone pendant provides natural teething pain relief for your baby. Necklace looks great on mom and keeps the teether off the floor and away from dangerous germs and bacteria. Includes exclusive free bonus set of replacement necklace clasps. Highly attractive packaging makes a great gift for any moms on your list.

Toogli Organic Silicone Teething  necklace is very nice to wear for fashion as well as a way to keep your teething baby or toddler busy. I would definitely recommend this item be placed on your baby registry or your gift list for those moms with babies or toddlers.

Travel Hacks: Help You Prepare For Your Next Vacation

March 11, 2015 By Thaleia 3 Comments

Traveling to grandma’s or trying to keep the family staycation exciting? Incorporate some of these travel hacks into your planning. Purchase a new backpack for the little ones and help them “pack” for the week.. then each day they can grab their backpack and everything they need to get dressed is there and waiting on them.. Bring the “traveling” home with these travel hacks.

Travel hacks prepare for vacation

I’m teaming up with Downy Wrinkle Releaser Plus to share five travel hacks that you’ll love, along with a great giveaway offer. One lucky winner will take home a Travel Pack from Downy Wrinkle Releaser Plus valued at $150 (including a $50 Target gift card!)

Five Travel Hacks You’ll Love

Five travel hacks you'll love (especially #2) - and a giveaway!

1. Roll; Don’t Fold
As you pack, roll your clothes instead of folding them. You’ll be able to fit up to two times the amount of clothing by rolling them as you would by folding them.

2. Pack your “Iron”
And by iron, we mean Downy Wrinkle Releaser Plus. The 3 oz travel size meets airline standards. Slip it into your carry-on bag, and with a simple spray, you’ll be wrinkle free all trip long. (It’s also a great fabric refresher if you have to wear your clothes more than once on vacation.) Click here to read more and grab a coupon.

3. Bring an Empty Water Bottle
After you get through security, several airports have filtered water stands to fill your bottle. You’ll also find that most airport cafes will gladly fill your water bottle as well.

4. Snap a Picture
If you’re checking your luggage, snap a picture of your suitcase contents before you leave the house. If the airline loses your luggage, you’ll be able to use the picture to prove the value of the contents.

5. BYO Blanket
Blankets on airlines are hard to come by these days – and they’re not always washed between flights. If you tend to get cold on planes, or you’re going to be flying overnight, pack your own blanket to stay comfortable.

Recycled Bottle Cap Art #junkplay

March 9, 2015 By Thaleia 2 Comments

We love recycling and we love art and we love to play with our recycled items. I was very excited to be apart of a super cool blog series called 60 Day Junk Play Challenge hosted by Best Toys for Toddlers. She has graciously invited other Kid Bloggers to each share a post focusing on 1 “junk” item. I choose recycled bottle caps because I knew that we had a huge amount saved from previous tot trays and busy bag activities.

WriteShop Writing Curriculum

March 8, 2015 By Thaleia 12 Comments

This is a conversation on behalf of WriteShop. Opinions are 100% my own.

We don’t usually buy curriculum because we’re very eclectic and often don’t stick with one thing throughout the entire year. So even if it isn’t super expensive, the value still might not be there for us. We are what I would call “relaxed eclectic” in our homeschool method or style but do try to incorporate some “traditional” school work in every now and again.

WriteShop writing curriculum review

I was very open to giving Write Shop Junior E a try with my oldest two children. We have not done a formal writing curriculum in a few years. I feel that writing is a very important skill just like grammar and will hold value even in a technological era. You can only do so much with spell check plus using parts of your brain to write and convey a message truly is timeless.

Tot School: Garlic Peeler Fine Motor and Sensory Play

March 6, 2015 By Thaleia 1 Comment

For this Tot School we are actually reviewing a garlic press and peeler from Alpha Grillers. I love involving my children in everyday activities like cooking. Lil’ Red loves to help and does the best that any toddler can. He has incredible fine motor skills but we love to encourage him to keep practicing those skills.

Everytime a new package comes in the mail, Lil’ Red is always curious as to what’s inside. We opened the garlic peeler and press and set out a head of garlic. Usually I let him try and peel the skin off the garlic clove. He is a big help when I am mincing garlic by hand or using a garlic press.

The softness of the silicone garlic peeler is great for all hands, young and old. Hubby and I first showed Lil’ Red how to put the cloves in and roll the peeler back and forth. He really enjoyed this easy task.

I think his favorite part was putting the cloves of garlic in the tube and then letting them slide out. He did this a number of times.  Soon we took some of the peeled cloves and used them in the press. This was a very quick and easy activity to set-up for fine motor and sensory play but kept him engaged for quite some time.

Introducing the Alpha Grillers Garlic Press and Peeler Set Features:

1. Premium solid stainless steel garlic press
2. Mince unpeeled cloves with ease (peel stays in – minced garlic comes out!)
3. Ergonimically designed for easy squeezing
4. Works great for pressing ginger too
5. Premium silicone garlic peeler (insert clove -> roll tube back and forth -> tip out perfectly peeled clove)
6. Dishwasher safe
7. Beautifully presented in luxury gift box
8. BONUS EBOOK: “50 Delicious Recipes Using Crushed and Sliced Garlic”

The Secret to Quick and Easy Minced Garlic Every Time!

The Best Peeler on The Market:

– Simple to use: insert clove -> roll back and forth -> tip out perfectly peeled clove
– Extensively tested to identify the best texture and thickness of silicone for optimal peeling
– Highly durable and dishwasher safe

The Best Press on The Market:
– Solid stainless steel garlic press will last year after year without any corrosion
– Ergonomically design so very little effort is required to squeeze
– Easily minces both peeled and unpeeled cloves and even works great with ginger!
– Easy to clean and totally dishwasher safe

Wait a sec.. If I can press unpeeled cloves why do I need a peeler??
Excellent question! The press works great on unpeeled cloves; however, it does required quite a bit more force to squeeze them though. Also, to get maximum yield you will always need to use peeled cloves. If you are looking to slice your garlic you will need to peel it first too!

Here’s some pictures of mom and dad using our new tools:

If you cook with garlic often then I would recommend saving yourself a lot of time by using a garlic press and peeler. We have had another press for years and we use it a couple of time s week. This is our first experience with a peeler and so glad we have this new cooking tool to use from Alpha Grillers!
