Ways to Organize Special Medical Documents

January 17, 2018 By Thaleia Leave a Comment

Going through a recent “battle” with insurance to get my son’s Dexcom Transmitter made me realize that I need a better way to organize special medical documents! You see we had a PA ( prior authorization) with a medical supply company that will no longer supply any Dexcom items for Eldest. The insurance said the medical supply company is supposed to honor the PA like a contract but they won’t.

Ways to Organize Special Medical Documents

I have been battling for almost two months to find a new medical supplier and now waiting for a PA from insurance. It’s been a tough two months for Eldest battling ketones and blood glucose levels higher and lower than normal. Riley has had some rough nights having to set extra alarms to check to be sure Eldest’s BG’s don’t suddenly plummet. If they are low for bedtime then carbs must be administered and another alarm set which means another finger prick-poo!

Mother Daughter Beauty Time

January 11, 2018 By Thaleia 1 Comment

I never learned how to apply makeup from my mom when I was growing up. I wanted to learn when I was 12 years old and all the other girls were coming to school with foundation two shades too dark but my mom said I needed to wait till I was 13. Sometime between my twelfth and thirteenth birthdays my mom got really sick with mono I believe so I never learned how to apply makeup for a natural look. I do not wear very much makeup to this day because of it and I am almost 40.

Mother Daughter Time Neutrogena

I do not want that to happen with my daughter so I have decided we can learn some basic tips together. She is more of a girly-girl than I remember being so this should work out nicely. Since we were accepted into a program for Neutrogena products I thought this would give us a great chance to test the waters with our “beginning to use makeup journey”.

Free Resources for The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe

January 8, 2018 By Thaleia 2 Comments

During the month of January we are reading or rather listening to The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis during lunch time. One of our groups on Facebook is doing a book club and this is the book that was chosen. I am delighted in sharing this book with my youngest son as he has not heard it before. Eldest and Princess haven’t heard it since they were in early elementary when Riley read it to them and Riley read it to Big Red last year.

Free Resources for The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe

I want to bring the story of The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe to life a bit for the younger ones as well as do extension activities so that the older ones can count more hours on their high school transcripts. Since I do not have a lot of time or money I thought it would be wise to do a quick Google search and see what I could come up with.

Best Podcasts for Homeschool Encouragement

January 3, 2018 By Thaleia Leave a Comment

Since early Fall 2017 I have been trying to encourage my mama heart by listening to podcasts for homeschool moms. I hope to find the best podcasts for homeschool encouragement that is easy to listen to early in the morning before my children wake up. I will also listen to podcasts sometimes while I work.
Encouraging Podcasts for Homeschool Mom's

Another local homeschool mom posted a picture on Instagram that she was at a conference for homeschool mom’s. This peeked my interest because I had not heard about this conference or community. I had often prided myself in “staying up” on current homeschool trends but I had not heard about Wild + Free and I wanted to learn more! I looked them up online and found a wonderful community that includes a podcast.

How to Choose a Word of the Year

December 27, 2017 By Thaleia 4 Comments

I know that choosing a Word of the Year is definitely not something new but hearing this phrase each December usually makes me want to crawl under a rock and hide. Seriously! I get upset that I cannot just pick some magic word that will make the next year fall into place. I sometimes just cannot decide where to place the focus in my life if it should be business, marriage or homeschool.

How to Choose a Word of the Year

This year I kinda fell into a word that makes sense and that will help support my Goals for 2018. My Word of the Year for 2018 is INTENTIONAL. My newsletter explains how it came to be which you can read all about my Word of the Year here!

The purpose of this post is to help give you ideas of how to choose a Word of the Year whether you are married or single, whether you homeschool or send your kids off to school, whether you work from home or head to the office or maybe do not work at all. You too can have a Word of the Year that brings you hope and purpose not despair!
