Nothing quite like spending four days away at Maumee Bay State Park and Maumee Bay Lodge while everyone else is in school or at work! It was a little tough to convince myself that it would be okay to take the week off of homeschool but we managed!

Whenever we head out to a new location or state park we try to get a feel for what it has to offer by driving around, getting a guided tour, or making sure that we have all the maps for the area. Most state parks have Park Map, Trail Maps, and Campground Maps which all prove valuable when you have four children who like to play and explore!

Fall on the Farm at Blooms and Berries Farm Market Loveland, OH

We spent the day having tons of fun at Blooms & Berries Farm Market. When I say spent the day having fun I mean the ENTIRE family had fun which is a feat in itself! We drove past the house around a slight bend to the huge Farm Market and greenhouse area. We saw huge piles of gourds right away.

The actual market was filled with all sorts of yummy food and Fall decorations. Local products like honey and syrup were among some of the items available along with a unique display of Candy through the Decades.

First off I will admit that my family is NOT the roughing it type. I try to get them to camp in the backyard a handful of times which is a feat in itself. So if you want to get out of your daily routine and want a comfortable Glamping, (glamorous camping) experience then Hueston Woods Lodge and Cabins will be perfect for your family.

When we stay away from home we like all the comforts of home from WiFi to a stove and refrigerator and that’s exactly what we got when we stayed at the Hueston Woods Family Cabin! Since Eldest has Type 1 Diabetes having a way to refrigerate his insulin and cook meals easily is a must.

Drury Inn Convention Center Columbus, OH #EXPCOLS

It’s been almost two years since we last stayed in Columbus and we have never stayed near or at the Convention Center! We were able to book our stay at the Drury Inn Convention Center location without any problems over the phone. This hotel stay allowed us to enjoy a visit to COSI and participation in an event at Macy’s Easton Towne Center!

We have heard good things about Drury Inn from their free breakfast to the incredible Kickback® from 5:30pm -7:00pm each evening, but it was time to check it out for ourselves! The kids of course were excited about the pool. Mom and Dad were excited about all the food including the popcorn that is served from 3pm to 10 pm-score! I didn’t even have to remember to pack bags of microwave popcorn for our bedtime snack.

We love finding treasures, we love yard sales, and we love road trips! The 127 Yard Sale is a great way to do all three of them within a 4 day, 690 mile yard sale spanning 6 different states!

What is the 127 Yard Sale:

The 127 Yard Sale is commonly referred to as “The World’s Longest Yard Sale”. That’s because it really is the longest yard sale in the world. To be exact, it’s 690 miles long and the route travels through 6 states; Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, and Alabama. The majority of the route follows Highway 127 from Addison, MI in the north to Chattanooga, TN in the south. From Lookout Mountain, GA to Gadsden, AL the route switches to Lookout Mountain Parkway. Both are scenic drives allowing you to appreciate the beautiful countryside of these states all while enjoying the fun and excitement of The World’s Longest Yard Sale.
